On July 2, 2008, they allowed the team to move under certain conditions, including the ownership group's payment of $45 million to Seattle and the possibility of an additional $30 million by 2013 if a new team had not been given to the city. It was agreed that the SuperSonics' name would not be used by Oklahoma City and that team's history could be shared between Oklahoma City and any future NBA team in Seattle.

Being a bulls fan I have to say the sonics were the most exciting team to watch in the NBA. They were full of high energy players and fun to watch. RIP Sonics. And I can Honestly say if I won the lottery the first thing I would do is bring back the sonics

first off the sonics did not just up a go. the people of seattle had a yea to get something on the table to keep them hell the owner before clay bennet tried to get some kinda deal about a new areana. you guys in seattle spin it like he came into town and just sprung it on you that they need a new areana but he didnt you guys all ready new the nba wanted a better place to play and the city did nothing so he did not steal your team you gave it away.

why should anyone support a team that abandons their city and their fans? people pay good money for tickets and merchandise and go out of their way to watch them on tv or make it to the games and then to just leave them for money just shows that all the owners care about is money.... unfortunately its not sport anymore and even more unfortunate is the me like many others dont have a favourite team anymore
