I'm sorry but Darth Vader stands no chance against Superman. Sure he's a powerful villain, but the man of steel used to juggle PLANETS. He's lucky if Superman doesn't just flick him into the sun

Superman has more than his fists...he has heat vision, freeze breath, super breath, super speed (he's 2nd only to the Flash as far as that goes), and a much higher intellect. Darth Vader can't use his lightsaber on someone who can fly faster than the speed of sound, can't choke someone who can bend steel and is nearly impervious to harm, and can't influence someone who has a higher intellect than he does (remember, Force influence only works on the WEAK-minded).

Vader's only chance is to control Superman's mind. That depends on whether Superman knows to avoid it. Then again, Vader would only use that if he knew he couldn't beat Superman otherwise. If neither knows anything about the opponent, Superman wins.
Ever thought that darth vader might use the force to prevent superman from using that speed? Sith can use the force to predict moves before they happen, so superman's speed wouldn't even work there. And sith can break the hardest of metal with a single thought. Why not superman's neck? laser vision, blocks it with a lightsaber. freeze breath, blocks it with the force. darth vader wins this one.
@TheJustincase4 Good point about predicting attacks before they happen. However, I contend that Superman moves/attacks faster than Vader's reaction speed. Heat vision vs. light saber is tough because it's unknown whether Superman can do some creative things with it, but I agree that a light saber would probably be a pretty good defense. Lastly, Superman's power is invulnerability. Most consider him WAY stronger than any metal, but we also don't know anything about the metals used in Star Wars.
@TheEeaston Can't use a lightsaber on someone he can't get to Eeaston. Vader can, at best, leap a dozen meters up...Superman can fly out of the atmosphere and into space. Plus, while Vader's reaction time is enhanced by the Force, he's not superhumanly fast. Superman can move faster than anyone except the Flash (who, at one point in the comics, exceeded the speed of light). Vader can't compete with those skills.

Vader can glimpse into the future and predict supermans moves, complements of the force. and if what you say is true about superman running into space like a little girlscout, then he wouldnt win either. he would have to come back sometime. And getting close enough shouldnt be a problem seeing how vader can forcepull superman close enough to get a hit with the saber, which even against superman would be a one hit KO. (the force also enhances speed dont forget)
@TheEeaston Actually, Vader can only see the future SOMETIMES, but only brief images (like Padme being in trouble, but not why or what eventuall happened), not a whole series of events. Yes, Superman would have to come back, but he can hit Vader with his heat vision from a lot longer distance than Vader can see or affect him with the Force, and in such a wide range that there would be no way to block the attack.
@DukeFan1971 Also, as I said, the Force enhances Vader's speed, but not to the point where he can compete with the speed of light (which is about how fast Superman can move). It's like a moped being enhanced to the point where it can move as fast as a Ferrari...it's faster than any other moped, but still can't keep up with (pun intended) a speeding bullet, and that bullet is Superman. Vader is faster, stronger, and more agile than any normal humanoid, but Superman is light years ahead in all.
Now, if you want to pit Vader against someone like Spider-Man or Batman, then maybe we have a discussion. But pitting him against Superman is like pitting Screech off of Saved By The Bell against Mike Tyson...the fight would be over before you could blink.
Hey- maybe I missed it, but WHERE are they fighting? If it's on Earth, a planet most likely too small and too far out of the way for Vader to even know about, a slight edge goes to Superman because he draws his powers from our yellow sun. If it takes place in a system with a red sun, edge Vader, 'cause then Superman would just be a regular guy. If the sun is any different color, it's inconclusive, 'cause we just don't have enough empirical evidence with regards to effect on Superman.
@KalosGun bear in mind though, i don't think Superman's powers drain the instant a yellow sun is out of view, otherwise he couldn't really fight at night very well. Rather, i think his body acts as a battery. He'd only be in real jeopardy if a red sun actually draws power out of him, and i don't think it does. So, if he had even just a few minutes to fight before his powers began to wane, he'd take Vader down quick. Super speed, super strength, super hearing, and heat vision.
@KalosGun Vader does have the force though, and could force choke Superman, but the heat vision would get him unless he has his lightsaber ready, which might deflect the rays, maybe... but i think Vader would have to bind Superman in a full body force nelson in a direction not facing him, 'cause superman can do a wide spread blast that a single lightsaber won't cover (Superman Batman Apocalypse animated movie, Supes took out an entire army of Doomsday clones with a single sweep of heat ray).
In the case of multiple suns, such as on Tatooine, things get a little iffy... one of Tatooine's suns looks red, the other yellow. So I suppose it would depend on the time of day and Superman's hiding abilities. But Vader would have home court advantage on Tatooine. What fuels a Lightsaber? Is it color specific? These aren't dumb questions 'cause we're talkin' about alien technology here. In any case, I go with Vader. I don't think Superman understands the power of the dark side.
@KalosGun normally it's some kind of crystal that powers lightsabers, but the dark side learned how to use some synthetic source, hence why theirs are all red, and not multicolored.

A Kryptonite Lightsaber wouldn't work, most kryptonite is usually rock, even if a piece of crystal kryptonite was used, it wouldn't emit a blade of kryptonite energy to cut through Superman. A lightsaber emits light energy from the crystal, kryptonite affects Superman due to the radiation energy. A lightsaber emits light energy not radiation. I think only certain crystals work for a lightsaber anyways, if kryptonite was used and worked it would only emit the colour.

Actually the Force alone would be enough. It all depends who attacks first. If Superman attacks first he can defeat Vader in the blink of an eye. If Vader attacks first then he can use the Force to crush Superman's skull or his trachea.
Yes Superman is very durable but that has no meaning when it comes to the Force. Vader could stop Supermans heart if he wanted to...if he attacked first. If Superman lands the first blow then he wins, if Vader does then the victory goes to the Sith.
Darth Vaders use of the force wouldn't be strong enough against Superman. Superman's heart is not like a human heart. The human heart is thousands of times more fragile than Superman's heart. It wouldn't be that easy, Superman is protected by a force field aura. The force can't be used directly through a force field. Superman has moved planets before now, greater than any use of the force Darth has ever used Superman would disable his cyborg parts before Vader could try to do anything to hit him
You forget APriceProduction, that EVERYTHING is made out of the living force in the Star Wars universe, and the Jedi/Sith could control anything of the sort.
In all honestly the lightsaber wouldn't work on Superman. Its plasma vs. a type of lesser invulnerbility. Supermans only weakness is any form of magick and Kryptonite. In theory you could use Kryptonite as the focusing crystal for the blade, but Darth would have too have known about the fight in advance for that.
Lets assume he only has the force as his ally, thats still an overwhelming thing against Superman. The force takes energy from life around it too power it, think about it.

Ever thought that darth vader might use the force to prevent superman from using that speed? Sith can use the force to predict moves before they happen, so superman's speed wouldn't even work there. And sith can break the hardest of metal with a single thought. Why not superman's neck? laser vision, blocks it with a lightsaber. freeze breath, blocks it with the force. darth vader wins this one.

@TheJustincase4 Good point about predicting attacks before they happen. However, I contend that Superman moves/attacks faster than Vader's reaction speed. Heat vision vs. light saber is tough because it's unknown whether Superman can do some creative things with it, but I agree that a light saber would probably be a pretty good defense. Lastly, Superman's power is invulnerability. Most consider him WAY stronger than any metal, but we also don't know anything about the metals used in Star Wars.

@TheEeaston Can't use a lightsaber on someone he can't get to Eeaston. Vader can, at best, leap a dozen meters up...Superman can fly out of the atmosphere and into space. Plus, while Vader's reaction time is enhanced by the Force, he's not superhumanly fast. Superman can move faster than anyone except the Flash (who, at one point in the comics, exceeded the speed of light). Vader can't compete with those skills.

Vader can glimpse into the future and predict supermans moves, complements of the force. and if what you say is true about superman running into space like a little girlscout, then he wouldnt win either. he would have to come back sometime. And getting close enough shouldnt be a problem seeing how vader can forcepull superman close enough to get a hit with the saber, which even against superman would be a one hit KO. (the force also enhances speed dont forget)

@TheEeaston Actually, Vader can only see the future SOMETIMES, but only brief images (like Padme being in trouble, but not why or what eventuall happened), not a whole series of events. Yes, Superman would have to come back, but he can hit Vader with his heat vision from a lot longer distance than Vader can see or affect him with the Force, and in such a wide range that there would be no way to block the attack.

@DukeFan1971 Also, as I said, the Force enhances Vader's speed, but not to the point where he can compete with the speed of light (which is about how fast Superman can move). It's like a moped being enhanced to the point where it can move as fast as a Ferrari...it's faster than any other moped, but still can't keep up with (pun intended) a speeding bullet, and that bullet is Superman. Vader is faster, stronger, and more agile than any normal humanoid, but Superman is light years ahead in all.

Hey- maybe I missed it, but WHERE are they fighting? If it's on Earth, a planet most likely too small and too far out of the way for Vader to even know about, a slight edge goes to Superman because he draws his powers from our yellow sun. If it takes place in a system with a red sun, edge Vader, 'cause then Superman would just be a regular guy. If the sun is any different color, it's inconclusive, 'cause we just don't have enough empirical evidence with regards to effect on Superman.

@KalosGun bear in mind though, i don't think Superman's powers drain the instant a yellow sun is out of view, otherwise he couldn't really fight at night very well. Rather, i think his body acts as a battery. He'd only be in real jeopardy if a red sun actually draws power out of him, and i don't think it does. So, if he had even just a few minutes to fight before his powers began to wane, he'd take Vader down quick. Super speed, super strength, super hearing, and heat vision.

@KalosGun Vader does have the force though, and could force choke Superman, but the heat vision would get him unless he has his lightsaber ready, which might deflect the rays, maybe... but i think Vader would have to bind Superman in a full body force nelson in a direction not facing him, 'cause superman can do a wide spread blast that a single lightsaber won't cover (Superman Batman Apocalypse animated movie, Supes took out an entire army of Doomsday clones with a single sweep of heat ray).

In the case of multiple suns, such as on Tatooine, things get a little iffy... one of Tatooine's suns looks red, the other yellow. So I suppose it would depend on the time of day and Superman's hiding abilities. But Vader would have home court advantage on Tatooine. What fuels a Lightsaber? Is it color specific? These aren't dumb questions 'cause we're talkin' about alien technology here. In any case, I go with Vader. I don't think Superman understands the power of the dark side.

there was once a huge debate of nerds whether a lightsaber could cut through Superman. The only thing that can hurt Superman is Kryptonite crystal and some people suggested that the Jedi lightsaber crystal was kryptonite or some shit like that. I think the debate ended by saying that although a lightsaber can deal damages to Superman, it would be like heating a normal person with a noodle as the Kryptonite used in lightsaber is too scattered around into photons that it is almost non-existent

A Kryptonite Lightsaber wouldn't work, most kryptonite is usually rock, even if a piece of crystal kryptonite was used, it wouldn't emit a blade of kryptonite energy to cut through Superman. A lightsaber emits light energy from the crystal, kryptonite affects Superman due to the radiation energy. A lightsaber emits light energy not radiation. I think only certain crystals work for a lightsaber anyways, if kryptonite was used and worked it would only emit the colour.

Actually the Force alone would be enough. It all depends who attacks first. If Superman attacks first he can defeat Vader in the blink of an eye. If Vader attacks first then he can use the Force to crush Superman's skull or his trachea.
Yes Superman is very durable but that has no meaning when it comes to the Force. Vader could stop Supermans heart if he wanted to...if he attacked first. If Superman lands the first blow then he wins, if Vader does then the victory goes to the Sith.

Darth Vaders use of the force wouldn't be strong enough against Superman. Superman's heart is not like a human heart. The human heart is thousands of times more fragile than Superman's heart. It wouldn't be that easy, Superman is protected by a force field aura. The force can't be used directly through a force field. Superman has moved planets before now, greater than any use of the force Darth has ever used Superman would disable his cyborg parts before Vader could try to do anything to hit him

In all honestly the lightsaber wouldn't work on Superman. Its plasma vs. a type of lesser invulnerbility. Supermans only weakness is any form of magick and Kryptonite. In theory you could use Kryptonite as the focusing crystal for the blade, but Darth would have too have known about the fight in advance for that.
Lets assume he only has the force as his ally, thats still an overwhelming thing against Superman. The force takes energy from life around it too power it, think about it.
