  • Oh man that song syncs up perfectly thank you for doing this really

  • I dont know what it is about winter that hits me deep.

I just love the snow, not to play in it, but to sit and watch.

And for some reason Modest Mouse and Snow is like rum and coke, Soothing.

    Who else feels this way?

  • it's fucking awesome that you did this.

  • Total Deja Vu. I live in northern Utah and have listened to modest mouse to a similar view countless times.

  • 44k views and no likes?

  • One of my all time fav MM songs.

  • This isn't the full song this really saddens me that I didnt realize this till now :(

  • Man, If I were to have a view like that...

  • it's crazy, I do the same exact thing when I listen to modest mouse, didn't think anyone else had the same feeling/urge to do this while listening to them. Gotta love modest mouse.

  • This video brings me back. wow, so nostalgic

  • That's not the whole song. It is 3:19 minutes long. It was just getting to a good part :/

  • modest mouse fans make the best videos.

  • I love the snow. It's like a large concert if you think about how much time people have spent watching your video.

  • The simplicity is entrancing. Very good.

  • Well man thats not a bad thing. I just thought you worded that funny.

  • oh... man, modest mouse on a snowy day, been there, love it, i love living in washington

  • Everything is still except the snow, the cars, and modest mouse. Sometimes though, it seems like modest mouse slows everything down. And, of course, that is meant in a good way. A perfect way.

  • I wish I had that view out my window... fits the song perfect.

  • you guys are creepy asking him where he lives..pff! i love snow

  • preach it!!!

  • isnt Danbury the lesbian capital of CT? Just what ive heard from some newenglanders ;)

  • nice man yah it looks like that in danbury too. theres not shit goin on in this town for a 19 yr old.just blaze and look out the window like this....

  • just moved to danbury Connecticut. where abouts is this

  • Thereabouts is Southington, but I'm fairly certain a good part of Connecticut looks like this. Although it seems like we have bigger roads here, for whatever reason.

  • @MechashivaMechashiva lol that's cool, I live in plainville. Great song btw =D

  • @MechashivaMechashiva Why did you cut the song short?

  • Indie Rock Rules

  • is modest mouse indie..? i was just trying to categorize them yesterday and i said alternative for some reason. could just put them under best band of all time!

  • they're like both :P

  • Their old stuff is 100% indie, but their new stuff is like a combo of Indie and Alternative

  • Totally dudezzz!

  • Indie isn't a genre? It's a cover-all term for bands on independant labels. Makes about as much sense as grouping major label bands into one sound. Maybe even less because there are way way way more independant bands in the world. And even the sound people regard as "Indie" is way too diverse to fit under a genre. :o

  • Indie has pretty much evolved into a genre now, big dog.

  • Yeah, Bands like Built to spill, Modest Mouse, Archers Of Loaf sound similar, but "Indie" covers bands like NMH, Godspeed you! Black emperor, Decemberists, AC, Broken social scene, etc. These bands have little in common other than use of guitars and drums, and I don't think that would qualify them to fit under a genre. Also, the use of "Evolved" is vague; most modern "Indie" bands sound nothing like an older band that's "100% indie" like Modest Mouse. Some of you examples of "Indie" would be?

  • The old Modest Mouse, Built to Spill, The Six Part Sevens, The Melodic Plague, Pixies.

  • dub narcotic sound system, some velvet sidewalk, hazel, the halo benders, beat happening......prettymuch anything on k records

  • @NmHman127Nugget This comment is one year too late I see, but yes, Modest Mouse is indie.

  • really beautiful thanks

    :]

  • can u say feeling emo that day?

  • Looks like PA :)

  • cool video =)

  • wow pink420floyd is retarded...he acts like build something was an LP...

anyways this song always reminded me of the polar opposite. It always reminded me of driving on the highway before the sun rise on a summer day...usually to go to the beach...

  • that is a nice view, mind telling me what state or city?

  • building something out of nothing**

  • You had it right the first time, it's Building Nothing Out of Something.

  • No, he's right, it's:

    "Building Nothing Out of Something"

  • snow. something that I miss.

  • you cut the song in half man

    wheres the rest of it?

  • No he didn't...cut it in half, that is...it is a very short song, tragically short, in my opinion...it is one of my all time favorite Modest Mouse songs...

  • This is a really cool thing to go along with the song as opposed to stupid slideshows.

  • what album is this off of?

  • This is a Long Drive for Someone Who has Nothing to Think About.

  • one of the most depressingly-awesome songs i know.

  • wow this is great, the video suits the music perfectly, nice one

  • You should have put the rest of the song on their.

  • god that's great. makes me crave winter among other things.

  • great song, and very cool video, great idea. also they rule live.

  • I'm sure EVERY band that you like 'rules live', right? That's not the objectivity I was asking for...

  • I actually have to agree with him. Modest Mouse does rule live. Perhaps you went to a mediocre concert or something of that sort but I've been to a live show, even before I liked them, and they were very skillful. The performance was quite indulging. I'd appreciate if you'd not flame objective comments just because of people's opinions.

  • I'm responding to their responses to me, as is my right. Considering the fact that I love modest mouse, but still think they are shit live, probably points to my objectivity more than yours. Kings of Leon are good live, the Killers are good live, Modest mouse...not so much, and that's my opinion, so yeah, I'd appreciate it if you would appreciate that, pardner...

  • I appreciate it just fine, bud, I just don't believe that you should go to the extent of bashing other people's opinions. You have every right to express that. You just don't have the right to go around and tell everyone they are wrong because of it.

  • I DO have that right...no one is arresting me, are they? I don't see any cuffs. Just because you're offended by it, doesn't mean I don't have the right to bash someone's opinions...that's the beauty of the internet, and America...I have the right to say just about anything I want, and you can't do anything about it (besides saying what you want back to me, which is your right).

  • Lets troll on the internet! You use encyclopedia Dramatica You're gay! You are a homo Saxual. Please Shut yo mouf, You're 28 and your extremely immature. Do the internet a favor and stop wasting my pixels. Thank you.

  • Their first album, Long Drive etc., etc., is perhaps my fave of all time, and Lonesome Crowded, etc., is my second, but I gotta admit, I think these dudes are shite live...now hit me up with the hate, drink the kool-aid, but their shows sound harsh and muddled and if you have even an ounce of objectivity you'd agree...now again, I love their albums, and again, this if MY FAVORITE GROUP, and still I say they are shit live!

  • Really? That's kind of a bust. I heard a live recording of Trailer Trash that sounded alright, but I've never actually seen them live. That's just too bad. :/

  • I'm in love with every song they have released.

Let me tell you, take the flaws and embrace them. You'll love them even more. I've never seen a live show of theirs. But the audience seems to drown out everything.

Also, I don't take accurateness very serious.

    The love wins every time.

  • I thought they were pretty good. Isaac yelled at some dude in the crowd for us.

  • They are a little messy live but they really show their intensity and passion for their music. Isaac really gets into every song which is everything. You could sound better live than on cd but it's the passion that wins my vote. Saw them twice in Boston and loved every second of it.

  • Wrong. I've seen them live many times. Their live shows are intense.

  • You're conflating intensity with skill...they are not the same thing...sorry, try again...

  • Sorry, have you seen them live? Skill + intensity go well together, the skill to get a crowd amped and the guitar, your dumb sir. Sorry, but you fail!

  • Oh the irony of someone telling me 'your dumb'...hey dipshit, it's 'you're', not 'your'...and I fail! Oh, I fail...how original. Where did you learn that one, off of Encyclopedia dramatica? Boy, aren't you the clever little internet guy...By the way, do you know what conflate means?...I don't think so, considering your (the correct usage of your, idiot) comment.

  • @JosephK1980 I saw them live last year. I wasn't bad, I just wasn't impressed.

  • @JosephK1980 Sometimes the shitty sound is the venues fault, I saw them in Rochestor touring with Good News and it was phenominal

  • @JosephK1980, I've heard the same thing from another hard core Modest Mouse fan. My husband and I were going to go see them live in Brooklyn next month, but have decided to drive to the desert instead and bask in Modest Mouse a la the ipod. :)

  • getting primed for the MM show tonight and stumbled across your video. It's kinda perfect.

  • For real? Sweet. My friend is going to a MM show in a few days, REM was there too, right?

    Wicked jealous.

  • i wish i had an ipod video cause this would put me to sleep in a good way

  • I really like it

  • that's great thanks

  • thats relaxing.
