This car moves decently... just not fast enough for a V8 that boasts 300hp... I just beat one of them on a 10mph - 95mph roll tonight by two car lengths with my 2003 Nissan Maxima V6 6speed manual...bone stock.

The 4spd auto on the impala definitely kills the power...

yea my 08 LT does exactly the same but when i rented an 09 cuz they were doing work on it the 09 LS impala switched at 55 insted of 60 and when u floored it below 45 it switched to first gear

I would think that the impala SS would have a lower first gear than your LT. Giving the SS more torque on the low end, but giving the LT the edge in fuel economy.

yea i have this car and ive beaten a lot of mustang gts with it. yes, it weighs more than a mustang, but the horsepower more than makes up for it, especially if you use the manual no-clutch shifting style. tires seem to stick more that way.

the 06 ss will do 155... it has 4 speeds its hits 2nd at 60, 3rd at 100 and 4th at 140... after it hit 140, the tach drops and it keeps gainin rmps.. i know cause i own one also

They top out at 154. Chevy doesn't offer the 5.3 on the 9C1 package as it does not meet some sort of standards. However some departments do buy regular SS's and have police equipment installed. A department near me has one. Even has the stock 18 inch rims and SS badges. They use it as their K-9 car.
