Wow, firstly I havent had a car with crank windows since 1994, but I still have that tool. The rag idea would have been great to know back then. I think I poped off that clip with screw driver and thats only because I could push the door in enough to get it in there. Man I wish I knew that 20 years ago.
wow that looks easyer than the tool i have one of those tools and never use it, i usually just slide a pick in there and hook it on the clip and pull it out il have to try this next time.
@studpuppy69 the two dislikes were people that paid too much for the clip tool LOL. All their clips are awesum really, this one will save you money too so even more awesumness LOL
You have got to be kidding me!! As many of these handles I have fought, its that simple!!! Where was this tip 25 years ago?? Thanks for the video, now I know!!
Neat tip. I'm liking these quick tips videos. I love the interactive ones most. Can't wait for the next one. :) You are such a professional in every way and make automotive repair look like a science. I love that.
D, on fuel trim u stated that any thing over 128 the ecu is taking fuel away anything under 128 it's adding fuel. is that the total of both banks Ltft and stft??
@fxallen1 are you using firefox or internet explorer? I was using FF and it got so slow I had to switch to IE 9. It's a lot faster but still buffers on videos some times.
Great trick by the way, no risk of scratching the plastic. Now if only I knew a trick to removing the temperature control cable from the black plastic box on my 87 Taurus...Ford doesn't even sell "special tool TP3B bla bla" anymore.
That same rag can be used to remove the serpentine belt on a 96-05 Taurus with the DOHC engine. No tensioner tool needed. Wrap it around the belt, yank up, slip belt on/off.
@realfixesrealfast D, where are y'all at we need more schooling !!

The only issue with using the rag is you could lose the clip. The tool does help prevent that little inconvenience.

Great job, Duane. Clips like that are the bane of the amateur -- until you see how they attach, you're working blind, and risking harm.

How I've done it for 24 years. An old body man showed me this trick. Won't nick the panel and holds the clip so you don't lose it.
