  • Im in gymnastics i love it. It took me a while to learn a kip too.

  • i'm not a gymnast, but this is very inspiring. great job! :)

  • Ok, i know that this is a little late, but you should bring your toes to the bar before you "pull up your pants" but that looks great! I'm 12 and i got my first kip last night, i've been working on it since... eehhh maybe December... But GREAT JOB!!!! (:

  • um ya 7 months? hahaha lol good for a 32 year old

  • u look soo yound thats good greqat job!!!!

  • took me two weeks but i finally got my kip 2 days ago and todays my conference :o

  • I'm so envious!!! The best i can do is touch my feet to the bar. I can't so much as get my shoulders level with the bar :-/ but i did just get my front handspring on tramp. Not quite there on floor yet.

  • well done

  • 32?! wtf?! i thought u were 15 :O! ahaha :) ur so good!

  • omg i can't believe that you are 32 years old !! you look so much younger.

you make me feel so proud and you inspired me, because i am 18 years old and i'm just training level 4... =S

keep the jard work and congrats !!

sorry for my english, i speak spanish xD

  • I Love this video! i keep watching it over and over. I just got mine a week ago!

  • I feel so identified !!!

  • great job!!!

  • lol at the end u just jump rite off the bar :) you did great! I'm working on mine too. it's Really hardd :P

  • Hey Stacy, it's Jesse. I was just browsing through youtube and came across this video! You're awesome! i love the documentation through it :)

  • Until I read like the first fie comments I thought you were like 16. I want to like thank you because at my gym when I tell the other gymnast that I want to do college gymnastics and continue on until I feel like 38. They laugh at me or saying it. And I just find it unfair that the men can continue to do gymnastics until theyre 40. But with you being 32 and you look so young btw, youve made my dream of my future come alive. Thank you, Im so subcribing.

  • 32??????wtf you look 15.......

  • omg i still can't get mines after 3 years!!! WTF? ahaha but then again my school doesn't have bars! :(

  • !!!!

    I wish I could do a kip!!

    U r so lucky! lol

  • at least you worked hard to get the kip and yes it helps to have some flexiability and I guess it is never to old to learn!! I'm trying to get some of my girls that are moving up in levels to get their kips as well.. keep up the good work!!

  • WOW!!! I never ealized how long it can take to learn a kip!!! By the looks of this it'll take me forever!!! uggh lol GREAT KIP THOUGH!!!!!!

  • Great job!!! It's HARDDD learning a kip, I'm still at the beginning stages. How tall are you? I notice you were straddling before you were kipping. My coach makes me pike and keep my feet together and I'm an adult beginner just like you but I'm relatively tiny. :) Oh, do you have to be flexible to learn this?

  • Great job! You do not look like you're 32! I started gymnastics late too; I'm 15 and trying to learn my kip. Any tricks?

  • HI! That's great work! I

  • YAHOO!!!!! Awesome!! I luv how you posted the progressions with the kip itself. Just don't bend your arms (i'm working on that too) Can you make a video of your perfect kip?

  • yahooo lol i just got my kip a few weeks ago its awesome

  • i dont believe ur 32 :]

    YOU LOOK LIKE UR 18

  • This video is like watching myself. I'm 27 and trying to get my kip. I noticed you switched from a pike glide to a straddle. Do you think that helped? It looks like I have the same problem you did. I get to the very end and I can't seem to shift my wrist far enough.

  • wherein earth did you find a gym for adults? By the way congrats!

  • 32????? omg you look 17

  • im still tripping your 32 you look so young! and congrats!

  • Notice how when she got it, she brought her legs right up to the bar, and the times she missed she wasn't quiiiite getting them all the way. Something to think about for those struggling with it... ;)

  • OMG ur 32 holy shit

    but im only 13

  • it's funny because after so long in trying to get it, your used to just falling every time and not making it up. and as soon as you got all the way up your face looked so ecstatic :) ..

    Congratulations on getting your kip.

  • omg you are not 32 in that video you look like your 12

  • im 13 and just got my kip like 6 mounths agao

  • omg icant do that and that kip is good im in gymnastics i compete im a level 9 im 16doing layouts

  • o there is still hope for me!! Great job!!

  • ahh! you did your first one ON MY BIRTHDAYY! woo hoo! :))

  • haha I was so excited when I got kips.

  • it took me forever to get my kip! so why did u start gymnastics when u were 32?? and thats amazing that u made one! dont feel bad it took me literally forever! GREAT JOB! keep it up! gymnastics rocks!!

  • its great that your in gymastics at 32 years old. its a great sport that keeps you healthy!!! great job! your getting there

  • Im nine and I nearly have it

  • you nearly have it

so you dont have it i got my kip when i was seven not to brag but the kip she did was very good i tried my first kip when i was 5 very hard lol

  • Wow! You're 32???

That's great! I'm 21 and I started gymnastics for the first time in my life 8 months ago! I'm working on my kip, seeing you do this has given me hope! Great job!

  • You're doing great! Very inspiring. I'm 27 and just started working on the kip. Glad to see there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Yay for adult gymnastics...wish there were more adults doing this in my area.

  • i know, its been a year and I still look like a hot mess trying to do a kip.

  • she needs tp use her arms and upperbody muscles to pull herself up at the end

  • awesome! i thought u were like 15 r u lieing bout ur age? u look soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo fricken young! u did great!

  • Clearly, you do many sit-ups and push ups to get a kip. How many do you do a day, and how long have you been doing the conditioning?

  • I think the majority of training for a kip is just practicing them because there is not much you can do other than practicing with a spot... the muscles you use for a kip are very odd. So no sit ups, but the glides work your core way better than sit ups! (-:

  • I scream like that every time I get a new skill :)

  • I am very happy for you, and your an adult! it took me long to let mine like 4 months it wasnt to bad, but i know it is very frustrating! Can you watch one of my kip movies please ?? and tell me if you have any advise for a straight arm kip

  • 4 months is not long at all! I bet your kip looks great now.

  • WELL DONE!

I have been trying for ages to do it now, you've inspired me to keep going.

    keep it up!

  • Pretty Good! The only reason I got it at 1st was because I Was really strong. You are good at it. Just keep your arms and legs straight and youll rock. Good Luck for the future

  • GOOD JOB!! I was wondering if at your gym they have classexs for adults or do you do privates or work there and practice? Just wondering because I haven't seen many gyms cater to anyone over 18ish, no offence I think you are amazing and I applaude you for pursuing something that is normally associated with kids and teens and I only am asking because I am interested in classes.

  • you have to find a gym that carries the insurance for elites or over 18 years old.. then it should be easy to find someone to do privates with you. There are many gyms around here that will do privates with an adult! Good luck!

  • getting your kip is extremly hard. i still dont have mine after about a year of tryingg. haha

  • Good job!! I'm so happy to see you doing this! I've been wanting to do gymnastics, but I've been embarassed about being around girls younger than me...and I'm only 20! You've really insipred me to get into the gym!

  • omg you are so nice! Well, its not easy doing gymnastics around all of the skinny little girls. But they all have been so nice to me! I don't think they are making fun of me but you never know. LOL good luck to you!

  • wow you are 32 u look wayyyyyyyyyy young

  • Congrats !

  • omg you guys are all so sweet! thanks so much!

  • i know how u feel...: frustrated

  • yes yes... I don't think I have ever worked so hard for something in my life! So draining. But I finally have it now! yay!

    AWESOME! =]]

  • this is a great vid that documents the huge amount of hard work, effort, and time that goes into learning skills that look effortless to the people watching the olympics once every 4 years

  • wow u guys in america call it a kip.

    we call it an upstart!

lol + well done it took me like two years to learn one! :P

  • good 4 u!!!!

  • I finally got my kip yesterday LOL!

  • your 32!?

    woah. you look so young!

  • WTG!!! I used to be able to do a kip, 20 yrs ago!!!!!!!! I cant imagine doing it now (I'm 35), check out my daughter's and give me some tips to help her, her's looks like yours did before you made it. Thanks.

  • When you do your kip, don't pull your arms but keep them straight. Good luck!

  • nice job! it took me forever to get my kip.

  • That's awesome! I've been thinking of getting back into training as well. You are a good inspiration for us 30+ wannabe gymnasts.

(psssst - try keeping your focus on your bar or on the floor directly beneath you when you're pulling up on the bar to your front support)

  • Awesome job!!

  • way to go!!

  • Hey there

I'm a 28 years old "young" gymnast from France and I discovered your videos from the D&S forum. I'm very impressed by your progress. I've been doing gymnastics for a year now and I still can't do a nice looking glide (just can't keep my legs straight ;-))

Anyway, congrats to you and keep posting videos of you and your teammates!

  • way to go!!
