By the way, when they show downtown Calgary like that... that was Metropolis for the Superman (Christopher Reeve) movies. Reeves/Superman's Smallville was the same town as Maggie's Diner on Heartland. And Heartland is filmed in the same areas as: Legends of the Fall, Unforgiven. Open Range, Shanghai Noon... and DOZENS of others.

I've gotten my Grandma to love the series. She was like, "is this a true story?" and I told her, "no, but you forget that its not when you watch it".

You can buy the Heartland season1 @ 2 on the amazon site or walmart. It is a great show I love it. It is going to be on Tv in the U.S. starting in sept 2010. starting with season 1.

Seriously, all you who are saying "This is so different, I hate it", give it a chance! For crying out loud, if the TV series was exactly like the books, it would be boring because you would know everything that happens before it happens. Seriously, the show grows on you The characters develop into people you never thought theyd be and you find yourself counting down to the next new episode You can enjoy the show fully if you don't expect it to follow the books Stop complaining that its different

the reason that the video keeps stopping for everyone is that something is wrong with the faded red bar that goes before the solid red bar at the bottom of the vid. The faded one is supposed to go much faster than the solid one, but for some reason its slower. you can pause the video until the faded bar has gone all the way to the end...but it takes awhile.

I've read all of the Heartland books! But I could never see the shows. Of course I never thought to look on You Tube! Glad I can watch them! I love this series!! So moving and true!

No, but I was inspired when I was 7. I am going to do that when i grow up. I am a huge fan of the books. It is pretty much called an equine behaviorist. I have heard of people. And the horse whisperer guy Monty Roberts invented join-up and does a lot of the alternative methods. (:

Heartland is located in Alberta a conservative/Christian Canadian province thus this tv series should have some church goers and pro Christian activity's.

It's based off the books, and no, just because it's located in a Christian province doesn't mean it should be centralized around Christianity, the books themselves never were (not that they weren't in any way, gave no specifications) and TV shows shouldn't be that way either, it's on a PUBLIC channel. No offense, but you act is if the world is crashing down because the show is different. Use some common sense. A) They can't buy complete rights to the books because it complicates things. B) Book readers and Television audiences don't like the same stuff. Change is essential.
