the apple WAS held together with 1 toothpick, there is a perfect slice to the apple which is literally impossible with a WOODEN boomerang the man is using, and the boomerang came at a curved angle, so a perfect half cut is impossible.

The apple was precut and held together by toothpics (see them sticking up after hit).This gave boomerangs a bad rap for being a dangerous cutting weapon which it is not .
