@bobfredkins This plane can go insanely high sometimes. Yes, i use the thrust to gain height. But the wind factors in too, not too much though as it can ruin the flight.. Always launch on half throttle.
just bought my son 1 for christmas, just charged it,about to take it for 1st flight, doubt very much we will ever be able to fly it as good as you can,bet you have been flying remotes for years
these is a cheap rc plane fun and its very much so worth your money pick one up if your looking for some fun flying but dont want to get all the gear u need for big rc planes :)
you control altitude by giving it more throttle they fly level on half stick i had an ember but these are more fun picked one up for a tenner off fleabay!
Stupid question: Many more expensive RC planes have controls for the elevators to change altitude inflight. How does one control altitude one a two-channel plane, where you can only control the throttle and the rudder?
Yea i bought one of these flew it around a bit. then i gutted it and made it into a new plane which worked a bit better actually.
Also for about 10 or 15 dollers more i bought a Parzone "firebird Phantom" which is so amazine its 300x better than these things i definatly suggest buying a phantom
you are cool at flying it. i have one i flyd my one in 18 mph winds i was flying relly good but i allmust lost it. i lost one of my blads to. keep it up man happy face.
I flew mine in 8 mph winds. it's basically full throttle hovering in the wind, with the ocasional turning to keep it flying straight. no wind is much better though ;)
No elevator. Its designed to gain height the more thrust you apply. Over at RcGroups forums, Micro RTF section, a guy has added elevators. Complete overhaul.
besides the awesome paint job i made, there's nothing i like about it yet, i never got it 5 meters off the ground, and it stalls constantly, i was attempting to fly at 9 mph winds, and cold temperatures. I never got it to fly like yours, how fast are your wind speeds in this video?
It was about 5mph winds in the vid, maybe less. Today was a bit windier but it still flew. My bro-inlaw said the same as you, bad peformance. You gotta treat it a bit like a powered glider, constantly cutting into the wind. Dont try and just fly it round. Ride that wind. I always launch on half throttle too, or just above. Save some juice for when you need more height.
Yeah this CAN DO tricks, you can lower the acceleration to dive and then push to full throttle to make it do front flips, I also do spins by pushing it hard and holding it for a while then, when it;s about to crash, i hold the opposite direction.
What kind of temperatures are you flying in? Ive had it cut out on me only on cold days. Ha ha, the little bleeder even lost left/right control once and flew off into the distance. Cant wait for some decent weather (uk).
Check the description on the top right for a link to a forum discusion on this flyer. RCGroups has a Micro RTF section full of modifications and suggestions for these types of planes.
Ive painted most of the fuse black and reinforced the leading edges with tape. Weather has been terribad for the most part so not much flying. One thing i did do was take the spring out of the left hand stick, you can hold throttle easier making a smoother flight. Just beware of the antenna, its a tight fit screw-in job.
is landing gear included

how can you get it to stay that high in the air? do you have to constantly change the thrust? or is there a % of thrust you prefer?
