I am a southern American. I don't care for the rest of the world's inner affairs at all, however when a non-European outside force threatens the European continent, I would be inclined to volunteer to defend all the nations of Europe and their borders because we are cousins by blood.
The same forces behind the EU are probably the same forces behind socializing America since their policies, and character seem almost identical. I don't think we won the Cold War anymore.

Haha great comments there, and I liked the flag bit at the end, but I hate the way a lot of those EU MEP's that are so pro-Europe go about like angry bullys complaining about criticism most of the time, instead of acting on criticism. However I do applaud their freedom to do so.
Vote UKIP, or vote ANY reasonable party that is seriously thinking of leaving the EU, as a legislative power (I want to keep free trade and good relations).

Farage is being misleading about the validity of the Irish guarantees. 67% voted 'Yes' to Lisbon on the basis that these guarantees will be included in the form of protocols in the Croatia Accession Treaty.
Klaus's speech to the Parliament was window dressing. In the end, he did not have the courage of his convictions and signed the Lisbon Treaty.

It was the czech parliament that betrayed czech people by voting against referendum and in the end - the constitutional court, which said that Lisbon treaty is OK. Now that we've hit a recession, 90% of them have gone home. That's the way the Single European Market works.
