  • Thank you for posting this! I really loved her humour! Such a beautiful person, inside and out! I look forward to hearing more of Spanky's music !

  • Elaine "Spanky" always had so so much class... and a great sense of humor. Is there any way we can see the rest of this video ?? I was kinda left hanging here. I'd like to see more.

  • love her lots - but she needs to be 86'd from Domino's Pizza for about 6 months

  • I know this is a dated video but it's so nice to see Elaine. The amazing thing about this group is that they were soooo great for such a short span of time. I loved everything they did. In a way, they remind me of coming of age in the late 60s. Such a wonderful time in our lives for those who shared that time period! :D

  • Sunshine Pop!!!!! This gruop did not get the credit they desrved! I simply adore SPANKY and OUR GANG!!!!! Let them be heard!!!!

  • A real ham like her beanie wearing daddy.

  • @salinagrrrl69 Not related to George "Spanky " Mcfarland of the Little Rascles/ Our Gang comedy's.

  • @salinagrrrl69 sober up and do the wiki, she is no relation

  • One of the best ever female pop vocalists. Incredible power and range; an enduring legacy of material. Thanks Spanky!

  • Oink Oink Oink ..Did Spanky swallow Mama Cass Elliott or visa versa?

  • @yourdickis2limp LOL - she needs to stay away from the all-you-can-eat buffet for a while. Still love her voice though!!

  • Hal Roache and his rascals elaine Spanky mcfarland.Hey id like to get to know you yes i would .well we can see she sure is not starving to death.guess she has a slight weight problem.

  • Spanky and our Gang are the Quinessential meaning of "Sunshine Pop". They induced happy-go-lucky juice into the veins of their listeners.

  • Elaine! Thank you for your wonderful voice, uplifting music, and memories this man has because of you. You are Spanky!

I'd sure like to meet her someday .and sing out a few lyrics LOl - Dave

  • Elaine you are tops! Thank you for that voice and those wonderful tunes.

  • masonrox2547: Please give Spanky a message. Thank her for adding beauty to our lives. She and Our Gang made this frequently cruel world a lot more bearable. Thank you from my heart.

  • 2 are gone but elaine and the surviving members are here celebrate that no negatives please this is a place of enjoying the music we were given and will stay with us forever. I have a medical background and there is nothing like listening to spanky and our gang while repairng someone in surgery ok? we need the good vibes and the patients do too they heal faster. also no sign of Md look it up be glad shes not got

  • Yes 2 are gone, but live on in our hearts always. I am thankful that we still have her and the other remaining members. They are up there in age now.

  • Anyone know where I can reach Spanky? E-mail or address to write her? She was thee best!

  • I met her once through a mutual friend...she didn't like me because I was cuter than she. LOL...

  • spanky mcfarlane is my aunt haha

my name is aaron mcfarlane and i had never even heard her music

    (:

  • She kicks ass.

  • Your kidding right? If not your a lucky son of a gun!

  • lol, nope she lives in cali now, so iv dont see here much anymore, but last year she came by to viset my dad who is her brother lol

  • Beautiful Elaine.

  • she was born in 1942? wow shes aged very well, they made the most gorgeous music that group, just bliss!!!!!,i was born in 67 ,what a year that was.x

  • This is her 20 years ago too.

  • Love her voice and her upbeat attitude. She and the gang put some awesome music out.

  • I heard she's the real-life daughter of the real Spanky McFarlane from THE LITTLE RASCALS. Does anybody know if this is true?

  • NO!!!!

  • It isn't. Elaine was born 1942 in Peoria, George McFarlane was still in his teens and in Hollywood. She got the nickname from her sruname and her somewhat similar build.

  • LOLOL!

  • What a great personality, I sure enjoyed this. thank you

  • Spanky/Elaine's voice and wonderful performances are part of the best memories of my childhood. I think she has a unique voice and special talent in her voice--and she's a lovely lady still today. Appreciate her getting involved in the Muscular dystrophy effort. If you're not in the fundraising biz, you don't know what it means to have celebrities with great skills agree to participate in your fundraisers. Only the nicest, kindest entertainers have those hearts to help. Special salute to Elaine!

  • And the way it looks as Elaine moves her head and talks it looks like she may suffer from some kind of health problem? She is talking about Muscular Dis??? CAn't spell that. But maybe she has that. Who knows??? As I said in the message below we are darn lucky to still have her around my good. Look at all the one's we've lost. What sick people who write this nasty posts. I'd give anything to have Elaine answer a letter or E-mail from me. Never happens.

  • How could anyone be so mean and ignorant? I think that we are lucky to still have Elaine around. Isn't that most important? I love her any way that she comes. Correction .........from what I last read only Malcolm, Lefty, and Oz Bach died. Oz was the very original part of this group. I love this group so much. I cry when I realize that the two members I loved so much are gone. So to you people out there who don't have a kind word to say keep it moving. We don't need that at all.

  • Wow. I last visited this clip 7 months ago, and, I can't believe the ruthless, cruel and hideous comments left by some of the people. This woman has one of the most beautiful voices ever to record, and all you can do is toss insults and rude comments.

  • Eh, small people often compensate by putting others down.

  • Thanks for your post. The comments, besides being rude, reek of the sanctimoniousness typical of many health nuts. Don't get me wrong. It's good to control one's weight. But as you said, let's first honor this woman who, as you say, has one of the most beautiful voices in the popular music of past few decades. I just viewed a performance of I'd Like to Get to Know You.

There's a dreamy quality to her voice that always got to me- along with those great melodies and arrangements.

  • well put.......and amen/god bless

  • Rosie O'Donnell was the homecoming queen for her highschool. Age makes some people put on the pounds.

  • Age doesn't make people put on pounds. Food makes people put on pounds. Her health has been very poor so God bless her. I wish her nothing but good health and happiness.

  • Good point, the point I was making is : Age makes "SOME PEOPLE" put on pounds, not all people. I've known of aging people, who ate less than they did when they were young, who carry more weight around the waist. Not due to pregnancy either.

I wish I could see Elaine in concert. Very gifted, talented musician.

  • Wow, she is quite the comedian, with a very theatrical bent. I never saw her in this light.

  • Loved her in 1969 and I still do. Every now and then I listen to Sunday Morning in muzacks in Mexico City stores.

  • It's official. "Spanky" kicks ass.

  • Where's "Flo & Eddie?"Ha,ha....Elaine 'Spanky'McFarlane expecting the Turtles to show up.She refers to the two that died:Malcolm & Lefty,but Paul too now,sadly.

I love Spanky cos she was a sixties beauty with a tremendous voice!.Their music sounds better than ever!.

  • I saw Flo and Eddie (Floddie for short) at the Alaska State Fair in 2003. Did several members of "The Turtles" die?

They put on a nice performance. I have kool recollections of their music in 1967.

  • No,I meant three of the original 'Spanky & Our Gang' have died.Dunno about'The Turtles'?.Flo & Eddie are still around!.

  • So Elaine is the only one alive? I love her voice. I love all the band members voices. I wish they were still alive.

  • Oh man, you are just TOO funny! Moron!

  • Yes that is Tanya Tucker. She also is posted with my user name. Along with the Tokens, Eric Burdon, Robbie Krieger, Strawberry Alarm Clock, and Quicksilver Messenger Services' Gary Duncan, Oak Ridge Boy's William Lee Golden and separately Glen Campbell. The press conference was for R &R's Main Event which was to be held @ Glen Helen Park in San Bernardino, CA 1989. Unfortunately, due to low turn out the debacle ran one day rather than the scheduled 3.

  • Was that Tanya Tucker up there? Wow, two talented women!

  • Dude, that's Spanky McFarlane. She's way cool. Don't be so ignorant.

  • She is *NOT* "one homely woman", and she looks nothing like Rosie O'Donnell! Elaine has one of the most pleasant voices I have ever heard. I wish, when they recorded "Sunday will never be the same" that they would have extended the end of the song a few bars longer. That is one of the best parts of the tune, and really shows the strength of her beautiful voice! I love this woman!

  • It's kind of funny . . . I once was a truck driver, and the things you would hear over the CB radio usually came from the most pitiful wretches you could imagine. I get the impression the same would be true for victordls and duncanstpt2. My sincerest desire is that Elaine at least laughs all the way to the bank. She was friendly and unaffected. More character than either of the above two morons undoubtedly have!

  • Yeah. Amazing isn't it? We get old. I don't like to censor my comments put on my videos, but that is not cool. That's my opinion.

  • I love Spanky & Our Gang as a group, and Elaine is just superb both as a singer and as a person. Many great memories come to mind when I listen to their music. Just wish this upload wasn't cut so short so we could all listen to Elaine just a little longer. Could that be possible? Could you upload the rest of this? LOL

  • I agree strongly. She is such a vibrant, funny person and you can't seem to feel bad if you see her.

  • i love you elaine spanky mcfarlaine

  • ok,,Im confused,,,this has nothing to do with the little rascals ???? let me know

  • She (Elaine) is the lead singer for the band called Spanky and Our Gang from the 60s. There's no direct connection to the Little Rascals. Elaine's nickname was given in honor of the original Spanky.

  • His name was George and he passed on a few years ago as have nearly all the players of note with the exception of Mickey Gubitosi(?), possibly now known as "Robert Blake"?

  • Thank you for your beautiful music Elaine:) You have brought us joy for decades. and thank you kenwah52:)

  • I love Elaine, and The Gang! Hearing them and watching their videos really brings back memories of my childhood and the way that life was back then. I actually get teary eyed when I see or hear these clips. Why? Because I am so happy that this is possible. This is great how we can go back in time because of these very dear people who share these videos with us! I love you dearly Elaine. You are what made Spanky and Our Gang! With Love Always .One of your truest fans! Hippie Niecey

  • Niecey, I hear you loud and clear!! I was just a little boy when S&OG came out, and my mom played their records all the time. Even as a young child, their music really moved me emotionally, (particularly "Like To Get To Know You" and "Sunday Will Never Be The Same"). I also get teary-eyed hearing these beautiful songs once again, they are absolutely timeless!!

  • Wonderful, bright, droll lady. Yeah, she has a great, powerful voice. Have you heard her singing I' Wish we Had All Been Ready' on the last Spanky and Our Gang album 'Change'? Mindblowing performance.

  • when was this made? didn't they break up in 69? probaby the drummer...

  • That's right Elaine! She has a strong voice. Wow!

  • bout that video of .. lazy day

  • Thank you, kenwah52, youn always bring your footage in a very professional form to present it to us! Good work! :-)
