  • excellent presentation, these lights are real masterpieces, am envious...must be nice to have ex-navy seal buddies and get a kickass 'night reaper' as a gift... };->

only seen 2 videos by you here but will check them all out, great stuff...

too bad the ph/pf-50 is discontinued, due to excessive temperatures while 'on'??..

but, after checking out polarion site, to me it's the 'abyss dual s' to buy..why is it cheaper than ph40?..it's smaller, more powerful, waterproof and dual settings...

  • maybe i'll be able to buy a light like this someday...3 weeks ago i wasn't aware of polarion, et al...surefire was the extent of my 'knowledge'...i was looking for a good, small 'edc' light so i googled to find something better than a mini maglight & - stumbled upon the 'cpf' site...ya bastards!!...turned me into an addict...in 2 weeks since i bought a tk-41, 2 jetbeams, e11, o2, & few smaller lights i gave my family..tk-70's next...i'll likely register on cpf soon too...it's hopeless...

    };->

  • @36Studebaker You're hooked now dude!!! LOL.

  • Are they LEDs or what?

  • @MsBickle76 they're HID's...

  • @LeMieux250 Oh, OK. is that bettter or...

  • @MsBickle76 Depends on the application. LEDs are essentially shockproof and are incredibly efficient, but the technology, although quite good, is still being developed. HIDs are costlier, but at this point in time are more powerful than LED's. Im no expert, but thats the gist of it. You may want to check out the wikipedia articles. They can give a basic explanation of how they work etc.

  • @MsBickle76 HID, at that power output the efficiency is the same as led, so it doesnt really matter

  • @jimmyhoffa9 At 50W it's still a bit more efficient than LED, at least to my knowledge but I'll stand to be corrected. If we're talking about SST-90s and XML it takes more power to drive an array of them to the same luminous flux as the single Osram 35W bulb at 50W. It takes 7 XML's driven to spec to meet the output of a 45W Polarion but imagine that we're soon to witness the generation of LEDs that fully eclipse HID efficiency at 50W. Throw is a different matter of course.

  • wish they didn't stop making the PH50

  • i want that polarion PH50 and tell them dont stop making them bec0z i wanted it bad...my battery life Run Time is 999.Luntillion Hours

  • i want that polarion PH50 and tell them dont stop making them bec0z i wanted it bad

  • Excellent presentation... I have a design question, though... Wouldn't it be better to have a bayonet type battery compartment cover? I'm no expert but I would think that in a combat situation one wouldn't want to take 10 seconds to unscrew/screw the cap to replace batteries...

  • I wish it could shine light into the minds of the vacuous soldiers so they would realize they are killing and dying in wars based on lies.

Iraq had no WMDs and Bush and Cheney and Rumsfeld knew that. they lied to you.

Hans Blix of UN inspected sites in Iraq in the months leading up to the war and he asked CIA where they thought WMDs were and he checked the sites and there was nothing there. you are in service of evil. wake up. use those flashlights to shine the light on truth.

  • very good info video, thank you so much ! i now the Polarion dealer here in Germany ;`)

  • Thanks. any info is good info. I got a 1000 lumen cree zm-L LED and it was just so powerful that I went ahead and searched for more and better. I found me a xm-L 3800 lumen and bought it. Amazing. I realize that LED, XENON and HID are not the same, but LED are so much more durable and long lasting. Don't get me wrong, I love every kind of flashlight. Keep the info coming. I'd appreciate a more detailed explanation of the different kind of light emighters. Thx

  • Very enjoyable, AND informative. Thanks so much. When anyone laughs at my 900 lumen OLight, I can laugh back at their ignorance, cause they haven't seen ANYTHING YET! Hahahaahaaa! Thanks again for a great video! ~Wolf

  • @FatDaddy4Fun Thanks a bunch for stopping by Wolf! I'm really glad that you enjoyed this one! Flashlights are cool aren't they!

  • @Patriot36 HEY DO THEY HAVE THOSE IN STORES I LOVE THOSEEE I WANT ONE

  • patriot, as you say they are verry exotic, i for one have the money to purchase this flashlight but there website was not too helpful tonight with finding out how to buy this exact one, im going to call them tomorrow and see if i can get any further from there...im really hoping it can be sold to me because i know its really meant for military and police....great vid btw, make more when you get a chance

  • where can i buy this llight?

  • @pprriimmoopro I don't mean to come across hard but it's been discussed in the comments and I've also provided the Polarion USA website link in the video description. Don't hesitate to use Polarion's dealer list or Google the model under the "Shopping" tab.

  • I want to be you!

  • @ebomey haha! I wish my whole life was all roses, but it aint bro. :)

  • Very, very impressive! I didn't even know that this kind of thing existed!

  • @swibo6 Thanks buddy! I'll bring one if I end up in your neck of the woods.

  • First of all. Happy New year to you. Nice review on these. To a fellow flashlight fan this is porn. I have not seen a HID in person but can imagine the power.

    Thanks

  • That's one hell of a gift. I just looked up prices....~$2000.00...wow. I wish I had a friend like that lol

  • @gabe562 Yeah, no kidding! The Night Reaper is $3700 bro. Like all military hardware, very pricey.

  • How much are those lights run?

  • Hey Patriot,

Those are some serious lights! Awesome though! Happy New Year!

  • @baketown83 Thanks bud! Happy New to you as well.

  • Wow now they are flash lights!! wish we had them in Iraq (tight arsed Brit govt) freak me HID, they use those in grow lights and indoor sport centers lighting, great heads up and table top on these amazing lights looking forward to part2 brother!

  • @TheDishD Strangely, the only comparable alternative to the Night Reaper is the Surefire Hellfighter, which is also good but not quite as bright and has no on board power. It even took a while for the US to start using these with CSWL's so it doesn't surprise me that the Brit's didn't have the available. I'm glad you enjoyed Dish!

  • Hey Patriot, thanks for showing me a glimpse into a very cool lighting niche! I cannot imagine that much illumination capability, and I thought my Fenix was a bright light.

  • @bscalzo130 Very Welcome! They're pretty amazing to see in use! Fenix lights are really great compact LED's. I've been a fan since they hit the market and still have my first one.

  • "Crew-served weapon light"? I didn't even know they made those! How long does one of those batteries take to charge on that standard charger? Gotta see that test vid on the M2HB.

  • @DemonHide I added a link to the weaponlight video, in the description box along with others. Batteries take 2-3 hours to charge. Thanks for watching buddy!

  • @Patriot36 I see they're mounted on M240B's as well! I went to the Polarion store website and saw some of those pics, too. At first, I was kinda like "Okay, I suppose it's average." because the light output automatically made me assume it was coming from one of those larger searchlights. Then I remembered that this relatively tiny package was putting out all of that! Very impressive, indeed.

  • @DemonHide Yes, exactly! The magic here is that they're 4.5lbs, have sub 3" reflectors and on board back up power. Also remember that non of these camera pick up light like the human eye. Broadcast and Network video rigs do but they're 25+K. Actual output is more impressive in person. Good eye that you saw the 240B mount as well!

  • great video

    very informative

    and inclusive

  • @1jilu I appreciate the views. You're welcome!

  • those are some impressive lights. Great review!

  • @Vhammer2010 Thanks bud! Part 2 up now..

  • very cool, cant wait for part 2 ;)

  • @beast12101 Thanks friend...par due is up now.

  • Thanks for the Review !! i'm thinking to get one of Polarion Lights in the future.

    Happy New Year Everyone !!

  • @njet212 You're welcome. Some neat products available soon from Polarion.

  • Awesome Patriot! Thx for posting this video.

  • @rws0010 Thanks for watching man!

  • Holy crap! Talk about throw! Are crew served lights like this going to move to LED. LED doesn't have a warmup time right? I think I need to become friends with this Ken Good! 8-9 feet is a big drop for heavy light like that! Excellent video, love seeing such cool lights

  • @Mrcaffinebean LED has the lumen output but not the "throw" capability of HID or short-arc. It will probably be at least 6-8 years before LED is on par with high wattage HIDs.

  • @Patriot36 Wow, I never knew. Thanks for the info. Very good video!

  • @Mrcaffinebean Very welcome! Thank you for taking the time to watch!

  • Those are two serious boys. Great heads up review.

    ~ TH

  • @TacticalHadoken Thanks buddy! I'm glad that you enjoyed the toys!

  • Damn dude, i had to put on my sunglasses to watch this review! haha Great review!

  • @bigbubba5037 LOL...funny bro! Glad you enjoyed it.

  • Those are some serious flashlights! Never knew something like that existed. Thanks for sharing.

  • @chanderson1 Thanks my friend! They're pretty amazing devices. Part 2 is up now.
