What I don't understand is why. The simple question why. Evolution was thought up by one man who decided he could come up with a theory while on vacation. Creation has been around for 6000 years. The bible was written by I believe 40+ men over the course of 1500 years. Imagine trying to get 40 people including yourself to write a book about the same thing over 1500 years and make it all come out as a puzzle! I'm not here to bash or hate on evolution, I'm just voicing my opinion.
as this film discusses, it is a trial about the freedom to teach several theories. not proclaiming that one is right or wrong. just that everyone should be informed.
Everyone here apparently has some philosophy that they think makes them an expert. I hate watching these kinds of videos because someone is gonna make some long ass comment about some theory and that the video is wrong. I'm watchin this because I'm readin a book about it for class.
Ok. There's no reason why any of these clips on this 8 part series should have so many dislikes. It's just a documentary. It's history. It's not like anything is being blown out of proportion or made up. They're just telling the story of what happened. If I was watchin a documentary on the KKK, I wouldn't dislike it because of how racist they are. It would have to be a real shitty put-together made film to get a dislike.
This what is known as historical fiction, or "docu-drama". There are elements of truth and portions of the historical record which are dramatized to make a larger point. There is always an element of bias in docu-drama. Summary: "Inherit the Wind" is not "horrible". It's a fairly accurate interpretation of the main issues of the Scopes trial, with plenty of dramatic license taken to make it an interesting story for stage or screen. Get it now?
Inherit the Wind IS fiction. It is a play by Jerome Lawrence and Robert Lee that opened on Broadway in January 1955. The movie, directed by Stanley Kramer, appeared in 1960. Darrow and Bryan were called Drummond and Brady in the drama; Scopes was called Bertram Cates. There is dialogue which is lifted directly from the trial transcript and there are events which are fictionalized (Brady dropping dead in the courtoom, for example).
@phantomspellchecker Inherit the Wind was horrible. It wasn't even close to the facts. This was a very good documentary, Inherit the Wind was fiction.

We can deeply disagree with some people and still want to learn about their motives. Or we can hate be hated in return.

I can't see how you'd dislike this. It's just history. Unless you think it is inaccurate history. Which could be, i guess.

"Inherit The Wind" is The MOST Vile, Slanted, Prejudiced, Bigoted, Bogus & INACCURATE Movie EVER MADE on The Scopes Trial !
At Bob Jones University; we would Do Stage Productions of THE SCOPES TRIAL; Solely Based On The HISTORIC WRITTEN TRANSCRIPTS OF THE TRIAL of 1925.
The Sad & Pathetic TRUTH is Generations of Public Schools in The USA have been Propagating & Believing TWISTED LIES about DARROW, SCOPES & BRYAN !
It's like Spreading & Holding The KKK's & Neo-Nazi's Version of Barack Obama !
