As for the people on stage...... i dont think you can judge the guitarist or bassist on being able to play 3 chords lol I think the proof is the bassist.... most likely never picked up a bass in his life lol. But you can tell the drummer is a good one just by the way he plays and stuff. Love GreenDay, wish they played this when i went to see them..... we did get abit of Foxboro Hot Tubs tho so wasnt bad :D

As far as I know, Green day did do a show or a tour (cant recall which) called fuck ska, or ska sucks... it was when ska punk was huge in the late 90's. I remember seeing a backstage pass graphic. But you're right, Rancid and Op Ivy are from the Gilman Street scene the same as Green day, which would explain why BJ covered Operation Ivy, wrote 'radio' with Tim Armstrong (credited) and was briefly in early Rancid but stuck with Green Day (so the rumour goes).

Man, you know what...I went to the show in DC Wed. night. I'll be honest...I was a little disappointed. They didn't play Knowledge...I was really looking forward to that. Now, they did play some of their old stuff that I didn't expect; like Brain Stew/Jaded and 2,000 Lightyears Away...which was really effing cool.

Oh well...even though they didn't play Knowledge I guess it wasn't a terrible show. Just could've been better.

Just look at it as a tribute, because that's what it is. I understand that Op Ivy's version is better, the original is almost always better. But this is just their way of honoring a band that the opened for once (their first show under the name Green Day actually) and a band that greatly inspired them. I think that's pretty awesome.
