No its not a symbol of slavery and hate. Nobody has ever been able to make a logical arguement that it is. Simply because the war was not over slavery. It was about issues with immense overtaxation and abuse of Federal power.

no slave ship coming into america ever flew a confederate flag. they all flew stars and stripes. the confederate flag doesnt represent slavery, it represents the soldiers who fought under it just like how the stars and stripes represented the soldiers fighting under it. we should have the freedom to fly whatever flag we want under the protection of the constitution and it shouldnt make a difference. if you disagree with a flag that is flown dont worry about it, its not your problem.

Private property or not, the State still has power over your property and must use the Governing powers that are bestowed by Federal Law. The Rebel Flag is not part of The Union and therefore must not Fly as a symbol of anything American.
The flag clearly displays Southern pride but pride of unlawful things used to hurt others.

I love the way people respond to the Confederate flag by saying "You Lost". It is as if they had won the Civil War themselves, just like armchair quarterbacks that bet on the winning team. They all must be from "The North" to be making such a statements.
I could point out that the slave trade was outlawed in the Confederate Constitution, or that the slave owners in the North were allowed to keep their slaves after Lincoln freed them in the South. But its no use talking to closed ears & minds.

Ah, great job Huckabee, let's promote ignorance, intolerance and a "f you" attitude, just to suck up to your fellow ignoramuses. I don't understand how that flag still flies atop an American governmental building, when the Civil War was fought, in part, to bring that flag down. I love how people are always claiming "heritage" as the reason why that flag should fly. Do they want north and south to fight again? Sadly, some still do.
