I love metal. I love thrashing guitars, blast-beats, screaming vocals, and the utter brutality of it. However, THIS is the music that sends chills down my spine. Thank God for Mozart and the other great classics! May their music live forever! This should come to show that huge music corporations don't know shit about real music.
@peanutmaniac really man? you're going to take somebody else's top comment in bid to have your own? just get out you said attention hungry excuse of a person.
I want to start a band, but when I'm around my 50s I want to compose music like this masterpiece. Where do I even begin to write something like that!? Lol incredible
@Byobrulez Well said. I'm 95% metal, but it is a wonderful thing to sit back and listen to the hours, days and even years of sweat that went into creating this masterpiece that will never die.
I'm not a true classical fan because I don't listen to much, but Requiem and Moonlight Sonata are among the most beautiful works of art ever beheld by public eyes and ears.
@thames1978 If you are surprised by snobby people, you are listening to the wrong kind of music. Classical music snobs spend most of their time enjoying the smell of their own farts. I'm sure they probably just didn't like the conductor. The wrong color tie or something. No doubt their own favorite conductor has performed a rendition of this song that is so vastly superior it transcends all time and space and this guy is just hack. "*faaaart* *SNIIIIIIIIFFFFF* Mmmmm."
@ProgHead777 Most music has such people, but classical music has them in rather disproportionate numbers. I enjoy most classical music, I recognize the incredible skill and talent that went into composing it, but I don't think that I'm a vastly superior person because of it. Unfortunately, many people apparently do.
Oh well, let 'em have their unjustified sense of superiority, I say.
@thames1978 I think the dislikes come from the truncated ending.....It should have finished but cuts out in half measure. The performance was of course very good.

When people realized they could make decent sounding music without following rules, I.e. rite of spring, that's when music exploded into diversity eventually creating the amazing diversity of music we have now. There is plenty of music out there that is not about sex or drugs or partying, but you have to look for it. And I honestly prefer bands like Manchester orchestra, or the dear hunter, over Mozart. And occasionally, a good eminem song every once in a while.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Ok, before anyone assumes anything else, I've been playing piano since I was 5. I've been around classical music my whole life. So when I "obviously don't know what I'm talking about", I also have listened to more than enough classical music to make an educated decision. I simply believe that this song, and many other "masterpieces", are boring. I prefer Tchaik 5 or even a good Strauss horn concerto over this. And any music that has rules (music theory), is bound to become redundant over time.
@izmail19771 I agree, classical music is the best music there is. Mozart died while writing this piece so we all can enjoy it in the future and present. All composers are brilliant. You show them some respect young man. If you were in his time period this was all there was to listen to and only if you were rich. So, think twice before saying anything. People who listened to this music were respected and well mannered. If you could get the chance to go to his concerts you would be bragging Ha!.
I loved it, I love music, all kinds. I think if you can not appeciate music you are ignorant. i also thinnk that everyone is entitled to their opinion and should not put people down because of their tase in a certain kind of music. it is not our place to judge, but listen and appeciate and find joy
@alfcassano what's the meaning of such anger? It's really unnecessary. I never said all classical music is bad, I just said that It's musically immature and arrogant as well as unartistical to confine yourself to classical.
This song isn't that good.. :\ its a pity that most classical music is boring. I pity whoever simply confines themself to classical music. Variety is the greatest spice. There's just not too much variety in classical music.
@RushPosh lmao, there is lots of terrific classical with tons of variety, just as there is lots of great jazz, hip hop, rock, afrocuban, pop, punk, experimental electronica, traditional ethnic musics, and let's not forget Bollywood.
@RushPosh You obviously dont know what your saying here, these compositions were the things that made us (people in these generations) love music. Without them, no songs can be made in the early days that can inspire many other people & imagine us starting to compose those classic music just right now. Weird, Eh?!
@RushPosh Wow shut up you don't know what you're saying. You look like you're a very close-minded person. Boring? It's just not your type of music, but don't criticize it just because you don't like it. This happens to be one of the most known masterpieces in the History of Music, at least for open- minded people. Your silly comment just got me mad.
ALL MORNING I'VE BEEN LISTENING TO BRAND NUBIANS, A HIP HOP GROUP, WHO ARE PRO CIVILISATION AND NOW I 'M CHECKING OUT MOZART READING STUPID COMMENTS BY DYSFUNCTIONAL RACISTS! LOL! U ALL NEED TO STFU..! CHILLLLL...

All i feel is pity to those who hold prejudice towards this music and great happiness that it remains to this day, a great piece of work and admired by so many, young and old alike. I'll proudly listen to this while I conquer the world.
This type of music will live to see the end of time and civilization as we know it. While all other junk will likely come, go, pass and be forgotten. That is the fact. Nothing beats the power of perfection.

Simply incedible, listening the whole world stops and nothing else matters. Thank you to my music teacher in highschool for having introduced me to this incedible form of music!
Without Pergolesi's 'Stabat Mater' masterpiece, this requiem would have NEVER sounded like it does. However, I became a big fan of Mozart's music since I heard this some decades ago ...
@EUStandardIdiot Do you have any idea what I was referring to? I was referring specifically to the Nation of Islam, which was, for all intents and purposes, a black supremacist group that held an enormous amount of influence in the mid-twentieth century. Their vision of the future for blacks was entirely opposite to what, say, Martin Luther King preached, but their legacy continues because it also infiltrated churches.
At least you chose the proper nickname for yourself; I agree wholeheartedly!
@ThePivotPainter Depends on the "Hip-hop" you listen to dude. Seems like a stereotype to me, if someone is passionate towards music that's their thing.
@Jitpring What kinda "Rap/Hip-hop" have you been listening to? The radio!? it's not all "Uncivilized" sounds like a racist stereotype dude. I love (and play) all kids of music and that comment kills me! I grew up playing classical and jazz (still do too!) but the radio and the children who listen to it aren't an accurate representation of an art style you like to call barbaric.
@DLuxPNW Rap, hip-hop, and the like are rooted in tribalism; that is, they're rooted in savagery and barbarism. I reject savagery and barbarism. Therefore I reject rap, hip-hop, and anything related to them. Are you not open to this alternative perspective? Are you intolerant?
@Jitpring No, you reject black culture. And that is really ignorant, because rap/hip comes from the same african-american musical tradition that shaped music on the 20th century and gave its most important contributions with jazz and the blues (paving the way to rock and roll). There are good hip hop artists (with relevant artistic merit), you're just too blinded by your own prejudice to acknowledge it.
@refuseit If I were black, how insulted I'd be that you call black culture the barbarism of rap and hip-hop. I'd say to you, "No, they distort and debase true black culture." You believe that you occupy the moral high ground. You do not. You support the breakdown.
@Jitpring You are not black, but if you were you probably wouldn't be offended. It appears that only white people say hip hop "distorts and debases true black culture".
You're a white guy who believes he knows what "true black culture" is, and suddenly I'm the one who intend to occupy the "moral high ground"? Laughable.
@refuseit And you're not even an American, but you're telling me what the true culture is of my fellow Americans who invented the blues, jazz, and rap/hip-hop. Laughable indeed.
@Jitpring I'm a white Brazilian, and even I can sense your racist bullshit. Just ask any of your black "fellow Americans" if they belive Run DMC, Common, Nas or Mos Def are distorting and debasing true black culture.
@refuseit Unfortunately, most black Americans today have been processed by the breakdown, so most would therefore readily approve of such trash. See, I live in the United States, so I know what I'm talking about.
@Jitpring LOL, you are so pretentious. A lot of blacks also live in the United States, and they have a different view on the subject. But again, you are this great omniscient being that is able to percieve a "breakdown" on "true black culture", as if you were its biggest upholder, haha. There's a clinical name for this, it's called schizophrenia.
@refuseit Rejecting black culture, or what one considers the insidious parts of it, is not "racist."
I'm white. There's a lot I don't like that would be considered part of "white culture." What does that make me?
Black culture and society in America started its downward moral spiral around the time the racist Nation of Islam began spreading its message of white hate, black supremacy, and separation. No longer wanting to live by the white man's laws, blacks began to glorify criminality.
@MaestroTJS There's a difference between "not liking" something and considering it a representation of barbarism or atavism, especially when it is so closely linked with a specific ethnicity (like hip hop is). This is racism in its purest form, only disguised by false moral or aesthetical considerations. The rest of your post is pure speculation and I'm not going to reply it.
happy birth day..

"no longer wanting to live by white man's laws"
yes indeed they didn't want to be your slaves any more.
read a history book please.
since u went through the trouble of researching the roots of black culture y don't u investigate the origin of white culture:greed and selfrelliance.

At least you chose the proper nickname for yourself; I agree wholeheartedly!

den viel wichtigeren Kommentar hat man wohl vergessen: die Aufzeichnung ist unvollständig und bricht mitten im Chor ab!!

@ThePivotPainter Depends on the "Hip-hop" you listen to dude. Seems like a stereotype to me, if someone is passionate towards music that's their thing.

@ThePivotPainter It's because this music attracts more civilized people. Rap, hip hop, and all the rest of it is barbarian music.
Jitpring 7 months ago
@Jitpring What kinda "Rap/Hip-hop" have you been listening to? The radio!? it's not all "Uncivilized" sounds like a racist stereotype dude. I love (and play) all kids of music and that comment kills me! I grew up playing classical and jazz (still do too!) but the radio and the children who listen to it aren't an accurate representation of an art style you like to call barbaric.
DLuxPNW 7 months ago
@DLuxPNW Rap, hip-hop, and the like are rooted in tribalism; that is, they're rooted in savagery and barbarism. I reject savagery and barbarism. Therefore I reject rap, hip-hop, and anything related to them. Are you not open to this alternative perspective? Are you intolerant?
Jitpring 7 months ago
@Jitpring No, you reject black culture. And that is really ignorant, because rap/hip comes from the same african-american musical tradition that shaped music on the 20th century and gave its most important contributions with jazz and the blues (paving the way to rock and roll). There are good hip hop artists (with relevant artistic merit), you're just too blinded by your own prejudice to acknowledge it.
refuseit 7 months ago
@refuseit If I were black, how insulted I'd be that you call black culture the barbarism of rap and hip-hop. I'd say to you, "No, they distort and debase true black culture." You believe that you occupy the moral high ground. You do not. You support the breakdown.
Jitpring 7 months ago
@Jitpring You are not black, but if you were you probably wouldn't be offended. It appears that only white people say hip hop "distorts and debases true black culture".
You're a white guy who believes he knows what "true black culture" is, and suddenly I'm the one who intend to occupy the "moral high ground"? Laughable.
refuseit 7 months ago
@refuseit And you're not even an American, but you're telling me what the true culture is of my fellow Americans who invented the blues, jazz, and rap/hip-hop. Laughable indeed.
Jitpring 7 months ago
@Jitpring I'm a white Brazilian, and even I can sense your racist bullshit. Just ask any of your black "fellow Americans" if they belive Run DMC, Common, Nas or Mos Def are distorting and debasing true black culture.
refuseit 7 months ago
@refuseit Unfortunately, most black Americans today have been processed by the breakdown, so most would therefore readily approve of such trash. See, I live in the United States, so I know what I'm talking about.
Jitpring 7 months ago
@Jitpring LOL, you are so pretentious. A lot of blacks also live in the United States, and they have a different view on the subject. But again, you are this great omniscient being that is able to percieve a "breakdown" on "true black culture", as if you were its biggest upholder, haha. There's a clinical name for this, it's called schizophrenia.
I'm not wasting my time with you anymore.
refuseit 7 months ago
@refuseit No, your pose of knowing true black American culture from Brazil is most definitely most pretentious.
Jitpring 7 months ago
@refuseit Rejecting black culture, or what one considers the insidious parts of it, is not "racist."
I'm white. There's a lot I don't like that would be considered part of "white culture." What does that make me?
Black culture and society in America started its downward moral spiral around the time the racist Nation of Islam began spreading its message of white hate, black supremacy, and separation. No longer wanting to live by the white man's laws, blacks began to glorify criminality.
MaestroTJS 7 months ago
@MaestroTJS There's a difference between "not liking" something and considering it a representation of barbarism or atavism, especially when it is so closely linked with a specific ethnicity (like hip hop is). This is racism in its purest form, only disguised by false moral or aesthetical considerations. The rest of your post is pure speculation and I'm not going to reply it.
