why is there no pro shot footage of this concert its historically important did no one keep the film i mean it was only 31 years ago its not like it was from the beatles time of 1962 or something so does anyone know if their is full concert footage or not because this looks like it was a great concert
my,man - write to him& say so. i've come to think that he listen's to the wrong people and there's many of them. telephone him ( ... give it a try !) assure him that there are more just like you&us we are positive and i can't help believing how good that would make him feel. he might just do something, then. lol .. like make a fucling tonne of money (too).
agreed, I might give it a try some day. Tho I'm sure Pagey has his own head to think/plan/consider with.
However, is a shame there is no official stuff off Zeppelin's 1980 Tour Over Europe on the release board. Stairway has some killer solos, among songs like All My Love, Achilles Last Stand, Train Kept A Rollin', and every show sounds completely different to that one the night before.
6:06 what a great way to sing the last verse of stairway.
Of all the 1980s bootlegs I've heard, this concert is the most solid. Page plays very well and Plant has awesome voice. JPJ and Bonzo superb, as always.
-Do bluesy bands likes Zeppelin, Floyd, Joplin, Doors, Hendrix, and The Who give you chills? Are you physically attracted to seeking truth in music? Well I am formally inviting you to take a listen to my channel, Using your open mind take the time to hear my tunes... And in case if you end up liking it, your subscribtion to my channel will help me show the world my music. Much Love.
i know i commented already but they sound perfect.plants voice is so strong and thick.page sounds amazing.wish this was a better recording.jpj and bonzo sound locked in.if zep didn't end the 80s would have never arrived
Fuck's sake - put the O2 show up on this channel. If you're not going to sell it to me on DVD, at least let me download it so I can burn it to disc myself.
Whoops it was Simon Kirke, sorry for not reading the posts, but glad to know I'm not completely crazy.
I'd love to see "Fool in the Rain" live just to see Jimmy Page play my favorite guitar solo of his. It is good to see and hear the other tracks from "In Through the Out Door".
Seems like JP Jones is a bit marginalized. It shoujldn't be. It's not like he was Bill Wyman, for Chists sake, he was an integral member of the creative force in the band! Three cheers for John Paul Jones !
at 7:09 does Robert Plant introduce Simon Philips on drums? (As another from Mother England)
Am I to believe my ears? Someone please help!
I heard from a friend who saw Led Zeppelin on Day on the Green in Oakland that John Bohnam was so drunk that an audience member got up onstage and finished the set filling in on drums for the passed out Bonzo. Could the same (well nearly the same, except that Simon Philips isn't just a man off the street) thing have happened here?
The best thing that ever happened to the Rolling Stones was Zeppelin calling it quits after Bonham's passing in September of 1980. Imagine what this band could've done throughout that decade.
wow! I am right wow! i ahve some vhs stuff from 80' but 90% is silent.and I have berlin 80,yes the last show on cd .good stuff! but this is a first .you have it with audio...much love.. man look at the precision bonham gives for the outro to Kashmir, damn!!
★Led Zeppelin★ remain the greatest rock band to ever set foot on a stage. No band before or since has even come close. Zep's first six albums so far, have sold 76-million copies just in the U.S. alone, that's an average of 12.6 million per album. No music artist of any genre has ever matched this feat.
man seeing and hearing Bonham here just makes me want to weep knowing he and this amazing band would be no more in just a few short months . You can tell that he and the band were playing better than they had in yrs. I wish he had lived and not just for the music
Zeppelin were always stellar. However looking at a few of their Knebworth performances, i feel that they weren't 100% in their later days. Looking at their 1980 shows though, they were back on track completely.
@AllysWorld05 : Yeah, Jimmy was definitely very out of sorts at Knebworth. Seeing this vid makes me realize that he was still the best even though he was in the throes of a heroin addiction in 1979&1980.
Yes Simon Kirk form Bad Company joins on drums Bonhams set was on a riser and they set up a set on the stage floor for Simon this was very rare in fact I don't know of another time they did this ...when Keith Monn played in 1977 he used Bonzo's kit...so does anyone know if this ever happened before . where they set up another kit for two drummers to play with LZ ?
what a loss for the usa because im british i can tell u that music in the uk today is crap its all rap or grime as they call it now and the white english kids are all going around with hoods on thier heads and speaking like pakis and a lot of eastern europeans here my countrys had it there will not be music like this from the uk again untill the britsh people take back their heritige and stop being influenced by pakis and polish and romanian wankers hope the us never lets them in
Led Zeppelin is the only band that inspired me to get into music. I love the singing, guitar playing, bass and keys, and of course the drumming. They were and still are the best band of all time.
What James Page did with the film people is he had the audio enhanced. That means it filtered out the crappy drops and scratch noises and basically just brightened up the audio. Amazing work O.o! And they enhanced the footage a little bit so it wouldn't be too grainy when being viewed. Again, great work! I am 22, but the first song I heard at age 1 and Custard Pie. Second song I ever heard by Led Zeppelin was Wearing and Tearing. Music has been a part of me since :p. Hence now I sing lol
I was on a high school Europe trip this summer, we saw tour posters all over, but were never in the right city on the right night to catch a show (yeah right, we would have actually scored tickets...not). We came closest in Munich, so it's fun to see this 30 years later. Thanks for posting.
