I love The H1, but don't certain H1's have a lot of problems with that 6.5 Diesel ? What year H1 has the least amount of problems? I would like to buy one but heard about different problems anywhere from the HAV system to the Glow plugs.
@rumerboyz The 6.5 diesel was not the best design for an engine ever thought up.... but, its not a "bad" motor. The glow plugs and (hav? HVAC??) are not really big problems. The blocks cast between 1997 and 2002 are prone to cracking in the #8 cylinder wall. AM General bought the rights and redesigned the motor in '02 (called a GEP motor). That fixes most of it. They still have PMD driver problems but that can easily be resolved with a relocation kit. My truck has a 2006 version motor in

hey, Im looking to buy an H1 and make it run on WVO. Id like to know some more about power loss and stuff like that milage when you run them on vegetable oil. and how does it work in normal life with not being able to go to gas stations?
You can still run diesel in a wvo converted rig, there is minimal power loss, veggi oil actually has more energy than diesel, it just is thicker and must be heated and usually less makes it into the cylinder than normal diesel, thats the only power loss associated.
run your radiator water through copper tubes spiraled through the fuel tank, and run an electric heating element on the fuel line, and its good to go! diesel or bio or wvo

What you likly mean is the BTU's of vegetable oil are less, but the due to the length of combustion (longer) and lubricative properties of of the oil reducing stress, at the end of the day "power" is nearly identical. I run a 13.08 average 1/8th mile on diesel and a 13.02 average on oil. Go figure :/ I hate hippies, just love the cost of VO. I'm with y'a on global warming and obama- they're morons.
