The amount of violence against women and the particular issues involved justify giving 'violence against women' its own catergory in the same way 'homophobic bullying' and 'racism' deserve theirs.

@imyourhappydrug You seem to be missing my point. there are over 200 academic studies that show it is NOT the vast majority of cases where men are the perpetrators. In fact, the American Journal of Public Health in 2007 interviewed 11,000 men and women, and it revealed women are actually more likely to be both the perpetrator and more likely to initiate the violence. And this was not the first study to show that, just the largest and most recent.

Well, I don´t agree with abortions, but I don´t agree with violence against women neither. I belive people should think first before making sex without condom. Here in Brazilnow and then newborn babies are lett in garbage cans or, when they are lucky, at someone´s doorstep. Of course, there those cases when a woman is raped and that´s when I have to make an exception for my usual view on the issue.

i read that one of 8 people abused is a man to one of 2 depending of the place of the study and the way it was conducted.
