Catfish is amazing. I think he is the best bottleneck slide player alive today. There is so much going on even when he plays slow. Magical nuances. Heck of a nice guy too.

He sure has some interesting musical fusion type ideas and that tri-cone sounds amazing,musta cost a few bob.Some of his stuff is a bit dragged out though i think,playing for 6 to 8 minutes is hard to keep interesting and mayb there are too many repeared phrases,also i think he needs an iron lung (best song),i dont think he has 1 yet that ive heard.

I bought his instructional DVD, all enthusiastic but at the same time half-afraid that I would unravel the magic. After learning the first piece, Eagle Bird, the tune is actually all the more magical for seeing how it is made. He really is an enchanting performer. Some kind of hypnotic voodoo going on when he takes to the stage, some kind of spirit/atmosphere descending on the room.
