it depends on the make of the helicopter, most small types spin anticlockwise, but most larger ones spin clockwise, it depends on the make and model, it usally has something to do with which way the jet engine spins as well.
Generally, most US helicopters rotate anticlockwise (when viewed from above). European heli's like the Gazelle, Squirrel and Puma rotate clockwise. Exceptions to this 'rule' are the Bolkows, the Lynx and the Agusta 109.

Sorry to be a pedantic bore, 'iweberdudei', but it's an Arriel-engined AS350. Astars were Lycoming LTS101-engined AS350's for the US market.........
