with this app cant you make it to where the text app number has your local area code when someone recieves a text from you? and are you able to send pictures too? if not how can you for free?

Nope, no texting plan required. You just download the free app, add contacts, and begin texting. (which means you can get rid of the monthly texting fee for your phone and use this for free) :D hope I helped.

there has to be some kind of catch, right? texting is like 20-30 bucks extra a month...and this is free?? what's the catch for real? Can't use the app unless you're on 3g or Wi-Fi? That would suck because i live in a Verizon extended ehanced services area so i'm always roaming and no 3g nearby. I would only be able to text from my house on Wi-Fi.

Actually no it isn't fake at all I used it on my iPhone before and now I'm using it on my Nexus One..I just hope they make it compatible with Windows mobile as well.
