Hey how do yo close a Rewire Panel Application in Sonar 7? Whenever I try to exit Sonar 7, it gives me a message saying I must exit Asio4All rewire Input before i can exit Sonar 7..
Yo, So I have 4 gb DDR3 1600, Quad Core 3.4 ghz, OS on a solid state disk, other files on a separate drive and I can only turn my buffer size to half without getting pops + clicks. Furthermore, midi skips notes if I hit the keys too fast. Opinion? I have a delta 1010lt audio card yet to xfer from my other computer so maybe the dedicated audio card and driver will juice it up but surely my rig is fast enough. I've been recording analog audio for a while on sonar but am just now trying midi.
Thanks, Rob for this tutorial God Bless you for sharing you're knowledge with others, life is a learning process and every little bit helps, one step at a time...
Hello Rob...WHich direction should I puch the buffer size thingy in ASIO4ALL? and should I open it up as offline settings? if not how would it open in my task bar? I dont see it unless I open it up in Offline settings. Please Advise.
Guys, can you help me out here. I have a problem of my playback after my recording track. There is a delay coming out when Im playback my guitar records, what shall I do to fix that to normal. Pls, teach me. TY
so whats this latency has to do with? is it the soundcard or is it depend on ram/processor of your pc? is the better, more powerful and faster of your pc has better result of your recording?
Thank you soooo much. I have been struggling with this issue for a while now. does the concept also work the same for vocals? sometimes when i record the vocals, they are close to no latency, but sometimes the vocal playback is late/distorted (however after exporting the recording sounds fine), can i fix a vocal track using these same steps?
But with the new soundcard I can turn my buffer all the way to fast with only 2 buffers in playback queue, and thats what solved my problem, I just had to get a new soundcard, now Im good to go.
Hey I had to buy a new sound card. I was using Realtek, Thats the sound card that came with the computer and I thought it could handle it, I tried you remedy but it still didnt work, so I bought Sound Blaster X-Fi, it was $99 dollars at best buy, and a peice of cake to install, you just plug it in, I then go to options-audio-advanced and set my driver mode to wdm/ks then go to Drivers tab-make sure your cards in both input and output, then general tab-put card as playback master,
I've turned down the buffer in audio options and the asio4all but I still have the problem. It's only a slight fraction but it's still impossible to play a piano part in time. Though the asio for all did clear up a problem I was having with clicks on audio files. But not this latency problem. What do I do now?
hey i might be a complete bonehead but I tried the asio4all as suggested here. I am interested in doing audio recording via the microphone jack on my creative soundcard and was hoping that the asio4all would solve the latency problem. Well, when I run asio it immediately doesn't recognize any audio from the mic jack (pink jack) input on the soundcard. Do you know why it doesn't recognize anything from my mic now? I have a very powerful computer
Interesting problem. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I will do a little more research on this and post what I find. But in the mean time, check out these posts (added to the description at the top of the page). Hopefully they can provide some answers for you.

Try going to..
Options > Audio > "Advanced" tab
Under "Playback and Recording" set your "Driver Mode" to "ASIO". See if that works.
