I'm running stage II on my rex with stock 5-speed tranny. It's not as week as people think. I've taken mine to drag races and tons of mountain runs. The only difference I guess would be that I'm running Motul tranny oil on my dif and tranny.

its all in the driving and maintenance i think. i'd still get a gearset and the Mfactory 1-4 set is at the top of my wishlist right now. being that you have the 2.5 motor, i'd look into it too since those motors are torquey as ALL HELL and break the gears the quickest due to that reason. are you on any forums?
