I hate dubbed films. I prefer subtitles in film. I'd see a Bergman film with subtitles and not dubbed. It is better with subtitles and I can't understand Swedish.
Inm: I agree. Subtitles give you the benefit of understanding what's going on but still being able to hear the inflections in the actors/actresses voices.
I can't imagine why someone ever thought dubbing was a good idea.
Many countries here in Europe (excluded my own: Sweden) dub their movies. Especially the biggest Italy, Germany, Spain.. France. They even dub their own movies.. I mean it's sick. If they make a movie in italian they put other voices on the additional voices.. but hey it generate jobs. But I really hate it, my relatives have never seen a movie in it real language.. at least not the young ones. I hate dubbed films.
The best thing is the original real thing and since I know the american slang , translating the slang expressions and their italian american accent in french doesn't make sense. Impossible d'imiter parfaitement De Niro , Pesci etc... C comme si un film se passait en banlieue française ou dans le sud de la France , comment transposer l'accent ou l'argo verlan si des américains veulent doubler le film ?
anyone notice that he turns into a dummy before the car blows up?.....LMFAO!

kickar: Maybe it generates jobs, but it doesn't mean it's good. Luckily most films come in subtitles.
