That was his swan song and what started it all for him here in the states....Still to this day it was a magical performance to watch live. I had never heard of him and after this performace, I was hooked on him!

I think it's important people know this fact because it helps people realize that there are more similarities than differences in people and cultures. IF your a fan of Ricky Martin's, even he himself said that his goal with the LIFE album was to focus on similarities in music instead of the differences.

I remember my spanish teacher back in 8th grade introduced my class to Ricky Martin and then I recognized him when it took the stage doing this performance. When I saw his grammy performance I thought to myself "Everyone is going to know his name now!"

I loved this performance cause it was the american grammys! we as latinos were used to see this kinda of performance (up beat, sexy dance moves etc..) but the americans were not so they were BLOWN AWAY!! it was a great moment for latinos and it started the whole RIcky Mania and they just couldn´t get enough of the latino fever that came with him!

I remember this performance also and I'm not latino but I did know who Ricky Martin was from the 80's and knew the flava of latin music from other latin artist When I saw this live I was SMILING FROM EAR TO EAR. I was so happy to see people in the audience and the world stand up and take note. This kid is no joke!

the 90's toned it down a bit, it wall more rock and alternative, such as Alanis Morissette or Creed, the 90's was mostly all about heartbreak and reflectional songs. Trust me, you know nothing of what Americans had or hadn't seen. Yes this was a dynamic performance, but nothing the grammys hadn't seen in the past. Educate yourself
