  • .understanding with appreciation. though one thing bothers me

your description contains an technical explanation, which becomes redundant as the viewing starts.

i hope you take no offence in reading this.

    greetings.

  • THAT WAS PSYCHADELIC! Seriously though, cool video. It really made me think.

  • cool video.

  • this should be featured... ok it aint like super simple and shallow, but i think it deserved coverage... anyone know how to offer it for featuring?

  • thanks for all the support. I am very happy that everybody liked it. there are alot of problems in it to. for example some images are very straight forward and I dont like that. I prefere more abstract, so that every single person would have different expreince of it.

  • I would be more than happy to know other problems and thing that you may think should not be there or anything! Let me know Because I am going to revise this video and present in in the EICV (Montreal's Most important video Festival)

  • When the current YouTube editor took her post she invited anyone to contact her and suggest featured videos via e-mail. Last time I checked, her email address could be found through the help tab.

  • Very well done. =) Beautiful.

  • This really was an incredible video. The synch between the images and the audio achieved a nice effect.

  • do you ever think we will have the effect...? it depends purely on the input of the members... that's how all social stuff works... if each of us puts in a little effort, then the collective result is huge... just now, it's the few putting in a lot of effort kind of dictate what happens... and in the real world, that ain't working ... well, hopefully with practice and more trust :)

  • i'm continuing this discussion on the group forums. ;)

  • I think we will, I just posted a few suggestions on the group forums. But I do think we're getting better!

  • nearing the end of our sub200 action in case anyone is interested... i can't think of a better vid to promote, though it hasn't managed to catch the wave, i think we managed to draw attention to this incredible piece of work... how has it been for you?

  • well, i guess the most important thing is how the discussion has or will affect maziarj.. obviously the sub200 group still doesn't have enough numbers to make the ripples we're aiming for. but i guess we've got to be patient. i've enjoyed the discussion though.

  • The end??? Why does it have to end? This video deserves more attention than its gotten!

  • that was great. a bit of a break from our regularly scheduled program of perceptions. thanks for the jostle. beautifully done.

  • no way.. you are joshing me fableforge... well, i been playing armagetronad, not so much recently, (i assume you've heard of it), and i was going to produce a vid about gaming, social dynamics and stuff...

  • I guess youtube just hates me sometimes, I've replied thrice to this comment and it just doesnt stick :( .. anyway, I was saying that I love videogames, that I play half life 2 in the rare chances I get, and to look up vaxia in google, I made it :)

  • Great video! It sure gave a person senses an exercise of illusions..

  • i am inspired by this... ok, i've just been looking at the making of tron as it happens, and the way they talk about teamwork, like godfrey reggion and the qatsi series... have we got the technology to support a collectively produced vid? because that's what gives good films so much power -- when everyone involved buys into the dream of it...

  • wow. ambitious idea and very cool. i've got to brainstorm a bit.

  • Tron rules. Tron launched many people (like me) into the technology careers we have today :)

  • that's a superb beginning... and the stuff after the silence about our perception of speed by contrasting image with voice wrt meaning... and the second half invites us to bend our preconceived notions... inviting synesthesia... and languages... this is the finest thing i have seen on youtube... honestly... conceptual, simple, beautifully executed

  • awesome vid

  • i really enjoyed your technique in this vid... i actually found myself wondering what the color blue would taste like... :) thanks for sharing this!

    ~cateyes~

  • i was more mesmerized by the thought of tasting a square or shape..

  • That was beautiful. I notice we use some of the same techniques, the fade to black with bursts of desaturation (I do oversaturation instead), and the double half transparent images moving slightly asynchronous, you used that for your end shot. Very very nice. I'm subscribing, you sir, are an artist!

  • The appearance of color was also very well done. I had forgotten to mention that until reading your comment

  • Ya, he really put it to good use with the shots about the apples.. and the taste of blue... the square strawberries... it was nice!

  • well alot of those were according to my own personal taste. for example to me blue smells like beach. or square taste like strawbery! But I would be greatful if somebody else connect with it as well

  • ahhhh.

  • excellent use of video techniques... and drawing our attention to the impossibility of silence... well explored...

have you thought about getting other people to record their response... to your vids?

  • are you going to do one? :)

  • answering ghostwise: who is going to do what?

btw, has anyone else noticed how all the messages are now fucked up in order...? ever since they upgraded the system the other day, things have just been mad...

  • will you do a video response in a style like maziarj's video?

  • that was awesome!

  • Very impressive!! Did you take the photographs?

  • no I borrowed them! :)

  • Phillp Glass!!! Wasn't he the composer who had a piece consisting of silence played live at a concert hall?

  • you are thinking of john cage, aren't you?

  • Yeah, I think it's Cage too.. but it wouldn't surprise me if Glass incorporated that into a piece as.well

  • Hey you're right! It was John Cage!! I find it odd how he went from music guru to Mortal Kombat :D

  • Glass would never do that. He is a minimalist and Cage was a Flux

  • Very interesting film work, especially the relationship of the lights to the voice track

  • Was this put up as an installation anywhere?

  • No! I only presented this once, in a class. Though I am thinking of doing an exhibition of all my videos and installations in summer, which if I do, I will definitely include this one aswell.

  • where would they be put up? at a university or gallery?

  • true... this is the right place for it... youtubia... but it is very difficult to draw attention to something that in sucha busy and loud environment, especially one which emphasises the visul... it's like advertising silence... damned tricky

  • i'm also curious how your classmates and teacher responded to this video. were there lots of comments or questions?
