@halohard191 X-Drive constantly checks the rpm of every wheel and brakes wheels that exceed a certain number of rpm. As a consequence, the brakes run hot. However the car in the video is equipped with mechanical differentials. If one or more wheels are on a slippery surface, the differential redirects the power to the remaining wheels and lowers the rpm of the slipping wheel. In the video X-Drive isn't even in action as the differentials are doing its job.

I drive an X5 and would not have a cartridge belt there on show! That is asking for trouble.We shooters have to be discreet with our equipment whilst on the road.Perhaps a bit of input from a sensible shooter would have made more sense.Like using the rear sides to put your guns etc.Yes I do agree that the car is not the best off roader but alot of it is down to the tyres.I use Pirelli scorpions and get everywhere a range rover goes.

Be better off with the Overfinch Holland and Holland Range Rover, not only can it go off road, comes with guns and lots of gin, you can also stop and pull any stuck X5's out of puddles and grass verges lol.

Ultimate hunting truck is an old pick up truck like a Toyota, or get a proper 4x4 and get a Jeep CJ or a Land Rover 90 Defender, or classic Rangie

Maybe in the USA those are the ultimate hunting trucks.

But here in Romania and other eastern countries we use Suzukys and Ladas and some hunters have Toyota RAV4s and Landcruisers.

In my group, out of 30 hunters 15 have Suzuki Samurai or Vitara and 8 have Lada Nivas and the rest have Toyotas.

Only 1 guy has a Defender 90.

The problem with defenders are that they're very rare in my country, they're expensive and their parts are expensive also.

I can tell u that the Hartge Hunter X5 is good off-road. Not serius off-roading, but it's enough for a Hunter to drive in the forest.

It has diferential lock, the suspension is changed.

X5 FTW!!! i had the X5 4.8 2008 man that thing was nice,,,but why diesel man i hate diesel it sucks -_- when you're wiling to buy a luxury SUV you are'nt supposed to get diesel unless gas prices where you r at are high

Because it has 425 pound feet of TQ. I averge 28 miles per gallon as opposed to a V8s 12, and a Gas 6's 18. It accerlerates to 62mph in 6.7 seconds, just a fraction slower than a V8. Its easy to Tune and I didnt think that the base V8 was worth $10G

extra either. I also have less carbon on my chrome. Its not a race car dude, its a truck. Luxury affords me to buy wtf ever I want. My heli burns kerosene (#1 diesel) but I assume you have a problem with that too?

@m5dinan diesels are much better for off road because the offer much more torque than a comparable gas engine at lower rpms. Modern diesels are also much more refined than they were before.
