  • Hi, Could you please tell me if this FPV500 has a USB to hook directly to a computer?

    Thank you.

  • Yes, you can connect to a PC using an video card adpater for LapTop, i.e. SV Smart Tv Card, TV Tuner Video Capture Cardbus, Pinnacle PCTV Pro USB 2.0 Analog TV Tuner w/Remote $29.99 for desktop Sabrent TV Tuner / Video Capture / MPEG Recording PCI Card with Remote Control.

  • Nice vid. I have flown over 2.5 miles away very high above field with 1000 milliwatt system. Although it is mostly in the RX I believe and I am using 14 DBI patch antenna. Hobbywireles site considering another Goggle set.

  • Thank's !!!

How did you get your RC radio to go that far?

  • I rerouted the RX Control Antenna wire behind wing through inwhich I drilled small hole. Install 4" fuel tubing for strain relief. Route antenna wire to vert. stab., then Install a "T" pin a piece of servo hor route antenna through two holes in that and use rubber band to secure to vert stab. Seems to give the best range possible on 72 MHZ radio for control.

  • Thanks, yeah, clouds where low and all over, it was a break between storm season we had here. I could not wait for a sunny day, one of those days that you feel you need, you have, you get to fly!!!

  • Cool, that's some nice flying. Any higher and you would be in the clouds.

  • what aproximate range have you flied from a/v receiver?

  • More than a mile and more than 3280' feet high with digital altimeter on board, but I was using futaba's receiver for my airplane, it has a short range than the hitecs receivers, otherwise I could have gone more than 2 miles and 4000' high and still have a good and clear video.

I normally don't go that high, I like low flights, but I was testing the range for the A/V system.

I also and using a little 8dBi patch antenna for the receiver only.
