If I may make a suggestion for the chord harmonization...

Start with a chord. We'll say C major. C-E-G, right?

Take E minor, which is in the same key as the other chord. It's E-G-B.

Both chords played together make a Cmaj7 chord.

Or use a sus4 chord, like Csus4. C-F-G

Then play an F major chord. F-A-C

In both situations, there are two notes shared between the chords, creating a harmony that isn't in perfect unison. You might just try chord inversions or different shapes.

I had a band (acoustic) and we both wanted to play a song with both guitars. Only thing, we didn't know how to write music for two guitars other than if they had the same notes or chords. I've tried looking it up - I got a brief "how to" on harmonizing two guitars when it's just plucking, but we wanted one to strum and the other to pluck.

What is the secret behind putting something like that together?
