  • Every time I now see the words 'Para' or 'Parachute Regiment' I really do get exhausted at the thought of all the time and effort I've spent putting into being accepted into the Regiment! Tough lads! tough Regiment!

  • when 'H' Jones was killed in the Falklands his replacemt was parachuted into the South Atlantic!!

  • The Paras, for when you need people killing in an instant.

They're not for when you need people to police the streets and hand lollipops out to kids, admittedly, but they are brave, lethal and yes, nasty.

  • Yes they do go to 1 Para from depot, my son was back trooped from his original platoon due to injury, but most of his mates from that platoon went to 1 Para, it may have been the case before that they didn't go to 1 Para straight from depot but that has definately changed, like a previous post it all depends on manning.

  • Warrenpoint. Mwuhahahahah..

  • Maybe true now,not sure when the spearhead battalion thing happened however i had a mate in 4 Para eight years ago and he did s type with 1 para and he is now platoon sgt 1 para!

  • You serve with 2 or 3 PARA and if you prove yourself and are the dog bollocks and are the type of person the Special Forces want then you are invited to go on tour with 1 PARA then its all down to you.

  • I've just passed out of depot 2 months ago and we had the choice of 1,2 or 3 para...

  • Paras are crazy. I'm an ex sapper and then was a doorman. Never met a para that wasn't up for it. Respect my brothers but war is what you were trained for not civvie street.

  • do the parachute regiment always get deployed in afghanistan by parachute or is this just used to lure people into the idea of joining. in reality do most get transported to kandahar airfield by aircraft.

  • @1982FMJ Most people In The Army Go From Raf Brize Norton To Kandahar By A Tristar And Then By Either A Hercules Or Chinook To Camp Bastion And Then The Soldiers That Go On The Frontline The Get Sent To Their Forward Operating Bases By Either Chinook Or Land Transport :)

And The Paras Do Several Jumps Each Year... But They Havnt Done An Operation Jump Since World War 2.... I Hope This Helps Mate :)

  • @waddokid Erm... I maybe wrong but I was watching an SAS documentary and I am almost certain the parachute regiment did a deployment jump when helping th SAS on a operation.

  • thats a shame they don't do operational jumps anymore like you said if thats correct

  • @waddokid sorry mate, suez 1954 last jump... just bout to join the regiment.

  • @waddokid suez canal m8 tht was the last op drop

  • @waddokid

well they (3 para) jumped in 1956 but yeah i get your piont...

  • @waddokid

Suez crisis 1956, 3 Para jumped.

  • @waddokid 5 November 1956 suez was the last jump.

  • @1982FMJ the only time I went to a combat zone on the Falklands we got landed on the beach by a fucking cabbage head who dropped us fifty yards short the bastard.

  • @1982FMJ Its also not just about them parachuting, the Parachute Regiment also boasts tradition, elite training, capability and determination more than any other Infantry regiment within the Army.

  • depends on what you do p coy for each corp has its own parachute unit near enough for example artillery royal horse artillery and hvm are airbourne rlc have there air assault brigade etc.....

  • I hate to tell you bud but your friend has been bullshitting you! Iv been in for nearly 4 years now and its a commonly known fact throughout the reg that to op for pathfinder selection you need to have been in 3 years minimum from the date you passed out and have to of completed a minimum of 12 months active ops, thats just the minimum, you wont even be considered on the minimum basis until you have completed numerous weapon systems comp!!

  • Good vid and song choice dude. I go to selection in a couple of weeks, so fingers crossed I will be joining you guy's and the best regiment.

  • 1 para is sfsg special forces support group you have to be in 2 or 3 para for over 2 years before you go in to 1 para

  • Thats odd, as my mate went into 1 Para straight outta training. Im not name dropping so take from it what you want. But its the truth...

  • @conor8mack8 stop talking shit, you can go straight there from depot

  • i remember these wankers came over here & picked on kids, while they were shittin it....lol....they were the days!

  • sssssssshhhhhh

  • shame that they don't jump anymore. is that why the're just called para.

  • yeah, as much as people respect the Commando's, the Para's are the REAL Bad Boy's

  • paras are the best

  • @freederrybhoy

    Fuck off you paddy cunt

  • I have a reason - because a small poo is superior to you. I produced two yesterday - if you want to meet your brothers pm me with an address. Oh sorry they have drowned in my loo.

Ah I just had a thought - are they your parents? FUCK OFF TURDMONKEY.

  • @freederrybhoy

Are your parents brother and sister, you inbred mick cunt.

  • since 4 para have been back filling 2 and 3 and havent done an individual tour since early telic days there manning hasnt realy mattered, plus you dnt need to go depot to go 4 para, so shut the fuck up and but out

  • @3paramatt 4 para is the t.a battalion mate.

  • Can anyone give me any Good advice on WHich to join?

    Royal Marines or

    Paras

  • Paras. Marines all over the world are overrated.

  • paras mate the marines are always on tv for things that normal soldiers are doing everyday, and the paras are doing all that without the press which i think is better

  • @ConnorFerguson08 the para's was in that our war mate

  • @Hoobler94 They're both Elite Forces mate. Despite all the good-natured banter, you'll just have to choose based upon history, locations and upcoming tours (which is HERRICK for both cap badges for the forseeable future).

Either way, whether you choose the Paras or The Royal Marines you will have to be very very fit. I suggest running five or six miles away and weight training with all your body weight (ie: pull-ups, rope climbs and regains and press-ups).

  • @pterob ....Once this becomes easier graduate to running and walking with weights, starting with a low amount and adding a few pounds a week. Train six days a week and always take a rest day, although you won't get many rest-days at Lymphstone or the Depot. One more thing, if you can't fucking swim, learn.

    Good luck pal.

  • ok guys lets just get this straight....you get posted into 2-3 from "DEPOT", 4 is the reserve regiment, and 1 you need to rack up some time into the Paras before you can get in there (IF YOU GET NOTICED...you have to get asked), yes you get put where your told to go but that is either 2 or 3 from Depot...this is right as my sisters boyfreind is a para and he is telling me what to type lol and i go for training next year.....ARGUMENT solved

  • Well thats complete bollocks. You can go straight to 1 para from depot as the platoon above me did. They normally send a whole platoon at a time.

  • aye thats right iam in week 20 at catterick is naughty week in training

  • lol, i just recently met a bloke ex SF, he told me that nowerdays you can get put streight into 1 para, provided yr good enuff. just gota go where yr told.

  • no its 2 or 3 para iam in you have to do 2 year before youre recomeded

  • Stop Arguing..These men, Top Lads risk their Life everyday for us !!..it doesnt matter what part of the Paras you go into..sent to w/e..2 para 3 para..im not in the army but i know when you join you get put were you get told ..you have no choice lol..16 air assault ..(flash) My brother fucked his knee on the last week,,(test week its called) on P Company :(..and he's in the AAC lol :D Top Man my bro is :D Much respcts to All Paras Serving !!

  • hahaha some of you people dont know what you are talking about!! once you have completed P Company, u go in to either 2 or 3 para, once you have served a few years in either battallion, you will have the chance to go into 1 para

  • People Just To Stop All The Arguments This Guy Is Right... I Asked a Serving Para And He Said You Either Start In 2 Or 3 Para :) You Cannot Go Straight Into 1 Para Because It Is The Special Forces Support Group Part Of The Parachute Regiment :)

  • since im in the reg ya lyin little shit your chattin bollocks, since all 3 battalions are undermanned you can go to any straight from depot.

  • @waddokid what a load of shit.............you can go straight to 1 para from depot........... fact

  • @cvtrueblue I've Had It Confirmed From A Serving Para That You Cannot Go Directly Into 1 Para As They Are Part Of The Special Forces Support Group... If You Feel That I Am Still Wrong I Suggest You Go Ask A Recruiter Either On The Internet Or At The AFCO :)

  • @waddokid mate i am in 3 para and have been the last five years, listen closely..... you can go straight to 1 para from depot

  • @cvtrueblue I Suggest You Check The Link In The Description, Point Proven Now Leave It

  • @cvtrueblue So Your Either Not In The Army And Lying About Being In The Army Or You Know Fuck All About Your Regiment.

  • @waddokid zzzzzzzzzzzzzz look buddy, when i passed out of depot in 2006 you could not go straight to 1 para, they only took from 2 and 3 para. But now you can go there straight from depot, 1 para is full of joe bags

  • @cvtrueblue Seeing As I've Had Confirmation 2 Weeks Ago From Someone Who Is Actually A Para Serving In 1 Para I Still Know That I'm Right.

  • hahaha im in 3 para also and know that just 3 weeks ago they had some of the lads ago went straight to 1 para.

  • @waddokid your a retard.

  • @patrickww99 That would be "you're".. Dopey grunt. Warrenpoint.

  • @waddokid ,when i passed out of depot, 10 went 2 para(including me) , 9 went 3 para and 9 went 1 para , it depends on whether 1 para need more blokes or not , most platoons are just split between 2 and 3 , but occasionally , some go 1 para.

  • @waddokid thtas fukin bull shit i know loads of lads that went straight 2 1para. just depends on wich battalion needs blokes more.

  • @ludabn16 I've Had It Confirmed From A Serving Para That You Cannot Go Directly Into 1 Para As They Are Part Of The Special Forces Support Group... If You Feel That I Am Still Wrong I Suggest You Go Ask A Recruiter Either On The Internet Or At The AFCO :)

  • or start in 4 para if you wanna be a reserve :)

  • no m8, u dont kno what ur onabout, u can go 1para from depot. why try n sound like u kno what ur on about when u dont.

  • you dont man you go 2 or 3 para you only get asked to go 1 ara when you served for a while 1 para is sfsg special forces support group

  • If your dad was in the SAS there is no way you would spill that info, for his sake.

Also mate, you dont just join 1st battalion you start of in 4 para (reserves) and work your way up.

  • damn i sooo would like to meet your dad ,hes soo cool ! seriosly though i really would like to meet him

  • You cant start in the 1st battalion you have to serve in 2 or 3 para first

  • wher did u find out that bull shit

  • u can go str8 in the 1st batalion if there undermaned or stand out i have 2 friends who went str8 to the 1st

  • if your going to make up something make it beliveable

you cant start of in 1st battalion you are in 2 or 3 para first

  • Wow, he might know my Dad then. My dads name is Andy McNab. Tell him he says hi. Oh and seriously you can't go straight into 1PARA anymore. You have to serve at least 2 years in either shiny 2 or gungy 3.

  • stfu douche bag, ur dad is a fag

  • a GOOD MUSLIM is a DEAD MUSLIM.

  • u fukin legend i love you

  • @zentropa whats that supposed to mean mate?

  • How do you Join the Parachute Redgiment

  • Go to your local recruiter and ask.

  • DOnt bother going to a local trcruiter because they will discourage you from doing so, instead the PArachute reg has thier own recruitng team you should call

  • Look on the internet (search Parachute Regiment into Firefox, then click recruiting or something like that)

  • omg , ask the recruitment office

  • the recruitment office talk shit. u can go str8 in 1st batalion
