Okay. Carly Smithson has a different sounding voice and isn't like Amy Lee, and had this sound to her voice since she started singing. So Carly isn't an Amy wanna be by any means. So what 3 of the band members were in Evanscence. WATF also have songs that I could never picture EV doing. I love Evanescence and We Are The Fallen and both lead singers have an amazing voice. I love this song, and I can concur that the bands We Are the Fallen and Evanescence sound almost nothing alike now, but if this had been released back in the 2005 to 2006 year then it would have definitely been in comparison. Now, however, Evanescence has mellowed out their music considerably.. they focus more on the haunting, ghostlike voice that Amy Lee possesses. I will not say that they are not similar, because that's a bit of a stretch, but this is more along the lines of their older music

they sound more like night wish than evanescence. as we know two of evanescence leaders are in two different bands. ben in this and amy in eva. bens new band sounds more like goth pop rock somewhat. evanescence is more of nu metal hard dark rock.. eva sound changed alittle when ben left. lost some of its goth sound but not all of it. evanescence is still great and i cant wait for the 3rd album. this band alright tho. maybe it can hold u off untill the 3rd album

Adding on to the whole 'they do/dont sound like Evanescence', 3 members of the band are former Evanescence members. Amy Lee wanted to go back to Celtic roots but the rest of the band wanted to keep the sound they had going. They not only invented that sound of music, but that genre entirely. They sound like Evenescence quite a bit, but with enough distinction to know it's We Are The Fallen. Amazing song, amazing bands!!

Well, to say they sound -nothing- like Evanescence is a lie. They do have similar styles. That said, they aren't carbon copies. Sorta like Slipknot and Five Finger Death Punch. Yes, they both have the same basic sound, but there is enough difference to warrant its own fanbase. I love Evanescence, but I am also eagerly following this band as well. They are both fantastic in my eyes, and equally deserve respect. Why can't we just appreciate the great music instead of following the politics of it?
