I have so much respect for the parents of children with disablities. To have that much patience and love for someone is superhuman to me. It really brings tears to my eyes because that is so unlike nowadays.
I have some disabilaties myself, it can be hard to find your place in the world. This movie is one of my favorites. Autistic kids are really smart and fun to be with i volunteer at churches and schools in the lifeskills department. These kids are so fun to be around. They definatly make your life more intresting and exciting! So next time you see some one thats a little bit different than you, dont be scared to get to know them. They might just teach you something.

He's got a crazy workload, he's got stress, and he has to come home to a son with a mental disability. i have two brothers one with celebral palsy who cant talk or even move and another one who has aspergers and they are both 19 and going on 22 my youngest is smart as hell even though i have no friends and and he doesnt either were each others friends and my mom is a single parent so yeah it sucks being time in some ways in other ways its cool you know but sometimes its tough but it gets better and being the oldest is also though shoot i even taught my youngest bro to play sports and to read to

But like any family, no matter who is in it, people get tired, they get annoyed with one another, and people argue. No doubt that the family is stressed out, and everyone has flaws. It's not uncommon even with a handicapped family member.
i think this is were Shia really got to show everyone what he was capable of as an actor. I think one day, maybe, we might see him nominated as an actor at the Academy Awards. Who know?

He does have a form of autism. I know because i have first hand experience my younger brother has autism. Its hard yes to live with someone who has autism but as long as you have patience and you understand the condition that the person has you find ways to make it easier. The dad is not wrong about raising the bar because most autistic kids don't talk but if you raise the bar and push them they can function at a almost normal level.
He may be a jerk, but the father does love his son. He just doesn't show it as openly as the rest of his family. his interaction shows he really does love Eddy, he just needs to learn how to handle it better.
I know what it's like to live with someone with a mental diability, the dad just doesn't know exactly what to do. But he could try a little harder to be nice. Poor Eddie. Shia Lebouph is an amazing actor.
Jeez the dad was being a jerk. Eddie was just being safe with his dad tools to use it for a watermelon as a brain operation. Its sad that Eddie was on the ground crying. @ lonergurl13. Then why would Eddie's dad get so serious about Eddie using his tools for a watermelon just pretending to be a doctor? Eddie didn't know what they were for. Eddie is just a playful person in this movie, even though he feels bad for using his dad tools. He doesn't know better.
@JBoogy92 well its no surprise in many american familys with a child that have mental disorders sometimes they play the tough father role just so they can actually help their kid or discipline them. even though that actually causes more emotional damage to the kid than helping or discilplining him. though seeing as a brain surgeon i kinda understand how a actual brain surgeons life is. When it comes to messing around with a persons brains its like nearly breaking the rules of medical ethics.
@JBoogy92 I think his father has build up tension from knowing with the condition that his son has he cannot fulfill his high expectations . I expected his dad being a former surgical doctor and all and now he to being one his wish that he can pass that tradition on has left him hopeless there for yelling and his son is an outlet of his emotions
@Floetry30 depends on how you downloaded them and what program you used to put them together. I don't know how to tell you what is the best way going about doing that(Except to actually buy the flick- You could probably find it on Ebay or Amazon) But if you've got a decent way of doing it- it shouldn't decrease the quality of the movie by much.
the dad did go a bit overboard. i understand he doesn't want to baby eddie but there's a right way and a wrong way to approach the situation. yelling at him all the time isn't the right way to handle the situation, and that is why he comes off as an asshole.
I cried, this family has no concern for the poor kid. Psh like they know what he's going through

He does have a form of autism. I know because i have first hand experience my younger brother has autism. Its hard yes to live with someone who has autism but as long as you have patience and you understand the condition that the person has you find ways to make it easier. The dad is not wrong about raising the bar because most autistic kids don't talk but if you raise the bar and push them they can function at a almost normal level.

He may be a jerk, but the father does love his son. He just doesn't show it as openly as the rest of his family. his interaction shows he really does love Eddy, he just needs to learn how to handle it better.

I know what it's like to live with someone with a mental diability, the dad just doesn't know exactly what to do. But he could try a little harder to be nice. Poor Eddie. Shia Lebouph is an amazing actor.

Jeez the dad was being a jerk. Eddie was just being safe with his dad tools to use it for a watermelon as a brain operation. Its sad that Eddie was on the ground crying. @ lonergurl13. Then why would Eddie's dad get so serious about Eddie using his tools for a watermelon just pretending to be a doctor? Eddie didn't know what they were for. Eddie is just a playful person in this movie, even though he feels bad for using his dad tools. He doesn't know better.

@JBoogy92 well its no surprise in many american familys with a child that have mental disorders sometimes they play the tough father role just so they can actually help their kid or discipline them. even though that actually causes more emotional damage to the kid than helping or discilplining him. though seeing as a brain surgeon i kinda understand how a actual brain surgeons life is. When it comes to messing around with a persons brains its like nearly breaking the rules of medical ethics.

@JBoogy92 I think his father has build up tension from knowing with the condition that his son has he cannot fulfill his high expectations . I expected his dad being a former surgical doctor and all and now he to being one his wish that he can pass that tradition on has left him hopeless there for yelling and his son is an outlet of his emotions

@Floetry30 depends on how you downloaded them and what program you used to put them together. I don't know how to tell you what is the best way going about doing that(Except to actually buy the flick- You could probably find it on Ebay or Amazon) But if you've got a decent way of doing it- it shouldn't decrease the quality of the movie by much.

the dad did go a bit overboard. i understand he doesn't want to baby eddie but there's a right way and a wrong way to approach the situation. yelling at him all the time isn't the right way to handle the situation, and that is why he comes off as an asshole.
