What does it mean to be burned in three-way script? Maybe it's referring to the 1947 film The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, where the ghost loves her, but she starts a romance with a real live man, so he decides to leave her in order not to be an obstacle to her happiness. @god7god That seems like an very specific interpretation. The song mentions nothing about marriage, divorce, or children and so I don't think we can just assume those things are involved. I think it's just supposed to be about the way you feel when you drift apart from someone you love. It's non-specific on purpose, so lots of people with lots of different experiences can connect with it. Your interpretation takes a lot of the poetry out of it. And it is a very poetic song.

It reminds me of driving down the California coast hwy 101, at sunset, summertime, with my girlfriend beside me, windows down, thru Pismo, Morro Bay, Cambria, SanSimeon... Anyone ever been in a little store called 'Sebastians' in San Simeon? A timeless song. Brings back some of my most treasured memories.

This song never meant much to me until now. I understand how Gordon felt now. It's the most painful thing in the world to fall out of love with someone you used to feel so passionately about, and not know why the feeling is gone. It makes me feel like a horrible person. I know the distance is probably a big part of it. I just need him to come back, so maybe my feelings will come back too. </3

I saw Gordon in Houston, TX, and had a really great time. My fav song was "Sundown". And, I, too, had great sensual relationship with a very hot girl. I had to give her up, though, because the relationship was killing me. Little did I know that the withdrawal would nearly kill me, too. Now my favorite song is "Here Comes the Sun". ROF LMAO :-)
