  • Big, brash and "indie" to boot... bloody brilliant!!!

  • Yes perhaps one the BEST tracks from the Eighties....if NOT the best...amazing song...voice, muscianship production....amazing. They came out of the post-futurist sound from Scotland....their contemporaries were Orange Juice etc....but they were far better...what a pity they never really made it at all.

  • My favourite song ever! 27 years later & I still love it! Thanks so much for posting :)) x (& btw for the person asking about Après Ski - it was the b-side)

  • best song of the 80ss

  • the whle world should know about this song...wonderful

  • Jesus, never thought I'd ever find this again - Thank You SOOOO MUCH, I'm shaking!

  • pure genius. ineffable magic. this IS what beneath the radar Eighties music could attain. still FLOORED after all this time. thanks mr. Quinn.

  • Does anyone remember another song of theirs called Apres Ski?

  • great to find this - still have the single - but no record player - just one of the best things ever - voice, guitar, production, sogn - the dogs absolote bollocks!

  • So wonderful to see this but has any one got Snakes of Shake clip from same show? We remember it being a very small clip but enough to stick in our brain for over 20 years. Sexy beast, long coat and marracuas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You got the feeling!

  • got this on 12 inch, a bloody fine tune play it from time to time early eighties magic..............

  • If you want to add more details to the video info - this is from The Tube Series 2 Glasgow Special

    EPISODE 0038 - featuring

BIG COUNTRY - Stay Alive (post recorded in previous Tube)

PAUL HAIG - Big Blue World (recorded by the Tube in a special on Glasgow)

BOURGIE BOURGIE - Breaking Point (recorded by the Tube in a special on Glasgow)

SNAKES OF SHAKE - We Got That Feeling (recorded by the Tube in a special on Glasgow)

  • I too have a very dear 7 inch single of this - a really great song.

  • Thanks for posting this great vid. brings back memories of my youth . I brought the 12" - sad cause I dont have it anymore. Thanks again !

  • was ian burgoyne and keith band in this group? i think i bought 2 12" singles and covers were designed by david band? i'd forgotten how good they were

  • Wonderful song - a timeless classic from my youth. It remains a cherished 7inch single - shame it's not available on newer formats. Thanx for posting it up here - makes me feel warm inside - just what life enhancing tunes should do.

  • Every time I hear Paul Quinn's voice I think "I want that man's babies", then I remember I am a guy... Isn't ironic that Leemar sang "If there's any justice in the world" yet singers like this go un-noticed by the masses. If there's any justice in the world Leemar will walk infront of a bus and Paul Quinn will be driving it.

  • I cannot Believe Where 8 months have Gone Since I last Commented On this Amazing Song!

I am still Covered in Goosebumps every time I Hear This Beauty!

    Shall We Dance?

  • Forgotten just how freaking good this was!!

  • best vocalist this country ever produced, takes me back, still have twelve inch vinyl version, great to see the video again.

  • I agree that the 12 inch is a majestic slice of 80's Indie vinyl. the insturmentation and production is perfect

  • God I can't believe this -this song takes me right back to seeing Paul at Glasgow QMU! He was completely drunk on stage spilling beer, and the band members had F**K and S**T written on their bare chests, what a freakin night!! Tx Parkhill!!

  • I love that song...been dying to hear it again since it was on the Tube....long time...

  • Where have you Gone Nicholavaughan??

You gave me hope! and then Took me to Breaking Point!!!

  • Really sorry. We had a family bereavement (Nan) and so I haven't been on You Tube for a few weeks. Picked up your email reply today and sent you a reply...

  • Listened and watched again, this is a mental track! It has the lot, mean Guitars,Kick ass Vocals, and Strings. What a Gem!! I am not worthy.

  • This is one of the best tunes I have heard in my life!! I had it on 12" back in the 80's, is there anywhere I can get it on mp3?

  • I've got the 12" extended version on my MP3 player... if my genius husband can work out a way of converting it to email-able format I'll happily send it to you

  • I have a version of this without all the strings from an LP magazine, I can't remember the name of the mag, I'll have to find it & post the details later. It really highlight's Paul Quinn's vocals. Does anyone know where I could pick up the album? I once saw a cassette of the album in a second hand record shop...How I wish I had bought it....D'oh!

  • Thank you! Haven't heard this classic since I saw them at the Astoria back in 198something.

  • WOnderful voice, sad to hear he is ill.

I strongly recommend his two 'Independent Group' albums. Absolutely sublime
