stepping past the plate is stupid one miss step or under step and your metal cleats will slide and your throw will wind up some where in right or left center
It matters none where your transfer point is. If you have a pop time under 2 your doing pretty good in my opinion. (Not saying that this guy does just stating an opinion)
good hands but if you want to cut your pop time dont reach for the ball. the ball is always faster then you are this will allow you to get your feet on the ground faster as well. so when your front foot hits it should be behind the plate so the ball can get out of your hand faster.
@xDILLONx25 what are you talking about no? a loopy transfer takes tenths of seconds off your pop time and that could be the diffrence between a out or a safe baserunner. transfer straight to the ear is quicks an ur already set to where you arm should be so it makes a quicker release
@drewman1811 Wrong, transition should be infront of body, and you have the time til you get your hand to your hear to get the grip. If you transfer near your ear, you'll sweep your glove and your feet will go to the side instead of gaining ground and keeping your feet pointed to second base(or realistically a little to the right), and having only your torso rotated a little more than your lower body.

would be much more efficient if the transfer was not as loopy, the ball should be transferred right up to the ear

Transition should be beside ear not infront of your body
drewman1811 1 year ago
@drewman1811 a decent catcher knows that the transition is supposed to be made in front of ur body and to let the ball travel so ur wrong
