There is no such thing as free energy, someone somewhere has to get at it. I know you'd love to sit on your rear end and tell your politicians in Washington to get it for you, but the world doesn't work that way.

I keep running into these dopey conspiracy theories about inventors being paid off to not patent or publicize. They're all bogus. It's a dead-end strategy.

The vast majority of inventors are visionaries. They *want* to change lives for the better. They'd rather take a few million and transform society rather than sit on a billion in silence. Anyway, suppose you *do* sink a billion to keep some magic gizmo off the market. What about the next inventor? And the next?

Something else to chew on: Why didn't CEO Kertz here take his algae tech to Exxon and say, "OK Exxon, pay me a billion now and I won't develop this fantastic alternative"? Do you think Exxon would have gone for it? Would you?
