Well, I have never been in sweat lodge...just a sauna a few times, that is how we do it in Europe. I guess that a lot of animal hides or blankets of wool (never synthetic...like plastic...this will let of toxic fumes), pure silk or flax all those materials can stand heat and will keep a light rain out. If you are not living on a reservation and in the "white" society...why not go for a sauna instead ? Some spas have them.
Never use plastic near high temperatures or fire!!! It will let off toxic fumes!!! I knew this already as a child in Scandinavia! You do not need to be Native American to understand pure common sense. I cannot believe how stupid white Americans can be.
@TheDraeStar interesting thought. This sweat was lead by Angaangaq, a Greenland first nations elder. Do you have suggestions as per proper covering material that can be used in remote locations?
first of all its just to clean your body ( sweat bath ) thats it there is nothing else about the sweat lodge its just to take a bath nothing else all that say anything else is full of it there liers
@davesanut no sweat lodge is ther for every one im cree and we have sweated just as long as the lakota nakota dakota blackfoot cherokee crow ect. dont be ignorant with ur words tunkoshla is always listening to u be well and pray for all.
Nothing like using plastic to suffocate people. You people just don't get it. You're just like all the others who exploit traditions for your own gain. You should top this now.

OMG, these people need to practice their own spirituality and rite, instead of taking something from Native Americans!

Yeah...nice, but I'm seeing PLASTIC, which in the real Native American tradition is NOT used.
