question... is it wrong to do a walking jazz bassline in church? one of the musicians in my cousion's church said i was playing something that music from the world and it was what i learned in music school. He then went on by saying how he is 53 and he has been around music for 30 years.

Jazz used to have a bad rep to it in the church world because in the past it was centered around secular ideas, but obviously times have changed because pretty much any ol'school praise you'll hear has a jazzy or blues feel to it. Unfortunately some ppl r still stuck in the past! So keep doing ur thing for the kingdom and don't let ppl limit ya! lol
