  • i have a green spotted puffer and he loves shimp pellets and he will eat the flakes when i put them in for the giant danios and the mollies and he gets snails and crickets too he is a fat boy !

  • There is too many GSPs in that tank! They require 30 gallons per fish! Please do some research before you buy your fish.

  • wow my green puffers do tht swim up and down at there reflection to but how big do they grow.

  • are the green spotted puffer aggressive to guppys or a golden dojo loach

  • dont put a figure 8 puffer and a green spotted in the tank they fight

  • One of my mollies got destroyed today by my gsp. It ripped off all its fins then its tail.

  • can't freshwater fish live in brackish water,it's just that brackish fish can't live in freshwater?

  • so do you have to have saltwater or fresh??? please someone repond

  • @eddieusselman This would be a freshwater tank; mollies are freshwater. However, this is brackish water.

  • so all you do is add aqurium salt? if so i ust did that a week ago

  • @smilingsquirrels

what is brackish water and how do i get it?

  • @eddieusselman They will not live long in fresh water, so brackish is recommended

  • @eddieusselman do ou still need help with the question with the water question for the tank?

  • @ty1977 it really doesn't matter its always good to learn some new things.

  • @ty1977 Brackish water is half salt half fresh, so certain puffers live in a area where the river and ocean meet.

  • where do you get these guys i whent to wallmart in washington (where i live) and they wernt there plz help me with any stores that might carry hem thanks

  • Once I put gsp in with my three mollies. They ate the mollies a day later.

  • ssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhity

  • umm.... I hear everybody saying that they need 30 Gallons to themselves... Does anybody realize that as long as they're belly is white they're happy!! That means maybe they don't need 30 gallons exactly. One of the puffers was happy the other one wasn't. That means this guy does need a bigger tank. Some don't though. I've know people with about 7 fish in a tank with 1 GSP, and yet the GSP is fine. Wasn't even 30 only 20 gallon.

  • i went to walmart today and bought 2 gsp and i think a one gallon tank but i read that its too small so i now i have to go get a bigger tank : <

  • 1 full grown puffer literally wouldn't fit into a 1 gallon tank... not that he couldnt swim in it he literally wouldnt fit in a 1 gallon

  • instant ocean

  • what salt do u use for a brackish fish tank anyone please????

  • you can use just about any salt ... some people even use table salt as long as it doesnt have iodine ... but read on how to add it u cant just pour it in

  • sea salt or ocean salt you can get it at most pet stores

  • One GSP needs 30g to itself. They get huge, assuming they're not stunted in a small tank - up to 6" each! And watch out for those mollies. They might become a snack.

  • how big do green spotted puffers get?

  • These puffers get to be 6in. long if kept in brackish to marine conditions.

If you keep them in fresh water for too long they will be consumed with fin rot ,bacterial infections, and body fungus.

They also hate flake food with a passion but love freezed dried mysis shrimp, Malaysian trumpet snails, and live ghost shrimp.

  • you cannot feed Malaysian trumpet snails to these fish as it will break their teeth! The shell is too hard for them.

  • do green spotted pufferfish need aquarium salt

  • when they are small, no

but when they start to get around 2 inches then its time to start putting in salt

  • ya some.

  • Um I do Give my fresh water pufferfish aquarium salt because its good for the and the only time you use it is after u clean thier take and also if it's been like 2 mounths I hope that helps!

  • Green Spotted Pufferfish need sea salt because in thier natural habitat they live in salty mangrove swamps to full marine conditions.

  • I have a GSP that is about 2 inches in a complete freshwater tank along with some african cilchlids. Im afraid that if i make my tank brackish, my africans might die i have a 30gal what should i do?

  • where can i get snails and clams to feed my gsp? (i just got him and he's really small) i cant find any small enough for him to munch on and i'm worried about his beak!

  • I usually get mine from the local pet stores, sometimes they get infestations and you can get the snails for free. I wouldn't pay more than $0.20 for a feeder snail though.

  • well i got a can of shrimp not live but still juice and not dryed out and i ask petsmart if they had any small snails for my puffer and they looked in all the tanks for tiny snails for my puffer + they were FREE

  • 30g is a bit small for 3 gsp, they're fine now, but will need about 30g each when they get older as they get territorial and are very messy eaters. Mine is about 2" and in a 33 with one molly, there were 2 others but he killed them.

  • I got my GSP when he was just tiny. He is over two years now and about 3 inches long. He is in a ten gallon fresh water tank and doing fine. Do I have to buy a bigger tank and do marine salt? He is just in with conditioning salt now and doing well.

  • i would get him a 20 gallon with sand (aragonite) helps with pH. also u should get instant ocean salt, it helps incredibley. also get plants so that the puffer feels more in his environment.

  • Yup mine ate my tetra still have 1 thought

  • do puffer fish eat cichlid food like pellets. because mine doesnt seem to like it , and hasnt eaten for 2 days.....

  • they won't eat any flake food or pellets, only frozen or freeze dried krill, bloodworms, mysic, brine shrimp, snails, small clam.

  • they also eat sea monkeys

  • also known as brine shrimp.. which he already sed..

  • Is a 29gal/110 liter aquarium big enough for 2 green spotted puffers??????

  • i would think so... just keep the tank well planted

  • what water parametres do green spotted puffers need thanks.

  • what sized tank are those???

  • if you read the description, you'd know..

  • my puffers also swim up and down the tank like they are trying to get out. I saw ur tank and urs is bigger than mine. Does anyone know why they do that?

  • Boredom, and/or bad quality water.

  • they do that because there hungry or hes lonely thats how mine is i got tem yesterday

  • do mollies breed good with sponge filtration?

  • it should keep the babies from getting sucked into anything

  • how do u get gsp to live with other fish? my gsp ate my swordtail

  • luck out I guess

  • my 3 puffers eat anything i put in the tank and their only an inch

  • sometimes they are very picky

  • will they live with heated tropical all their lives

  • probably not, they seem to do better in either a brackish or full marine enviroment

  • the only thing that looks crowded is the room the tank is in

  • HI, are pufferfish hard to take care of? And do they get along with other fish or are they agressive?

  • they nip at slow moving fish and can be aggressive, they are pretty picky on what they'll eat, i feed frozen bloodworms, snails, krill and brine shrimp, they will rarely eat and flake or pellet food, just from my experience

  • It doesn't look crowded or cloudy, good looking tank.

  • thanks

  • dude, you need some help..Your water is still cloudy and dirty and you have so much stuff in your aquarium..too crowded for the fish, you idiot. Maybe you should take a class in fish keeping and lay off the coffee, it's making you act funny.

  • Get a Life...lol its not crowded....or dirty....and you are SUPPOSED to have decorations for the fish....

  • i saw ur other vids there relly kool great lover of fish nice man

  • is that your house it looks like a fish shop or do u bred them and y all the tanks who many u got

  • its my dorm room, they all started off in a 5 or 10 gallon tank

  • puffers should not go with other fish they fin nip alot and ruin your aquim

  • there hasn't been any fin nipping, they stay to themselves

  • Thats just what the people in the pet shop tell you cause they know puffers are cool so they say they havebe by themselves so you buy another tank for 1. they do fine unless there with slow moving fish

  • i did have one take a bite out of my clownfish

  • i recon you should get rid of that gravel and get some play sand but clean the sand first and get rid of all that colourful crap in the tank and buy some drift wood but boil it first. than the tank would look really sweet, just my opinion

  • the tank was the place where i put all the extra gravel i had hence the multicolored gravel, i have a lot of drift wood thats curing in a couple of 10 gallon tanks right now, the stuff really turns the water yellow, it took me about 3 months for the 1 piece of driftwood in there now to stop turning the water yellow, i've been looking at sand for the past 3 months, just can't find the right stuff thought about buying some livesand

  • I just put 40 pounds of aragonite in, i'll have to make an update soon

  • i also ordered a coralife protein skimmer 125 gallon

  • also has a 30" nova extreme t5 light

  • Mollies are freshwater fish am i right. So isnt your tank BW or SW?

  • they can be in fresh, brackish and saltwater, some fish stores get them from their suppliers as sw

  • do those puffers get huge?

  • i believe they get to six inches

  • I thought you cant mix any other fish with green spotted puffers?

  • haven't noticed any fin nipping on the mollies
