Faint bald spots: commit and the beard will eventually cover said bald spots

Itchiness: could it be in-grown hairs? If so, arm yourself w/ a cache of peroxide and alcohol, a good cosmetic mirror and a good set of tweezers.

Stiffness/coarseness of the beard: condition it daily. I condition for a minimum of ten minutes while taken a dump.

Please I need help. I'm 18. I grow really thick neck hair. Mustache. And my chin goes up from the bottom like a half circle and the rest seems to be bald. My sides are relatively thick but go in and it does seem to grow at all on my cheeks. Can I grow a beard? Will that all actually come in with time?

@Anthony20111024 mine was something like that before...but i just let it grow...there was this moment called awkward phase where my beard look shitty and the bald spot was obvious...but i did not give up...i just stayed strong and now voilla...my beard is long that it covered my bald spot..Good luck mate!=)

Great videos, good tips also. I got some of the jojoba oil it really keeps my beard soft and smoothed down to my face. Im 2 months in to my bearding for this winter and I hope to keep it all the way to spring w/o trimming. You are a great encouragement when I want to give up the growing a large beard. I hope I can make it 6 mon. Keep doing the videos.

My beard grows the same on the sides. I also feel like I'm "faking it". I've had my beard since May and my girlfriend and I love it. Unfortunately while doing some maintenance I messed up on a little area, so I had to trim down to a 9 on the Remington. So now that I have committed to my beard I am ready to grow it wild and free until next summer......perhaps even longer.

I have a beard growing problem. sometimes when I shave, it grows out very thin and with fewer hair, and sometimes it grows out thick and lots of hair. anyone else have this problem, or do you know what I mean?

@TwistedMind6969 Yeah, some guys can't take the itchiness in the early weeks. I guess some beards are itchier than others, but when I was growing it out I didn't find it to be so itchy that I just had to get rid of it...

@Travhouse Not too long. I pat it dry with a towel and combing it out with a wide-toothed comb helps too. I get pretty dry skin if I leave the beard wet so I try not to let that happen too much.

I completly agree with you buddy. I've just turned 30 and been growing a beard on and off for the last 7 years or so. I have a thick chin coverage but it is only in the last 6-8 months that I've started to get anything on my cheeks, but it is coming through now. Im month 2 into my full beard growing. Im never shaving again, just a trim now and then. i intended to look like Moses by the end of 2011 !!!!

baby oil also works for your stubble beard of 2-4weeks into your growth, also shampoo and conditioner is great for a soft beard :)
