We betrayed West Papua by supporting the American deal (the "New York Agreement") for trading our neighbours to Indonesian rule for Washington's benefit - and so Freeport could mine West Papua. In 1962 it was illegal to sell human beings, but we did it anyway, we voted in support of UN General Assembly resolution 1752 (XVII). And nobody has publicly asked Canberra WHY we supported that resolution.
NO wonder why a co-worker of mine which he is from Indonesia was so ignored in Guam. It looks like the Chamorro was very aware of the situation in the region. And he is a very Christian fanatic.
I am a Councillor in Cairns in Far North Queensland. These are our neighbors! For Christ Sake, why aren't we helping them???
