  • May 8th, 2009

  • that's the day before I went to Disneyland!

  • @beatledude64 my birthday!! :D

  • i can't wait to go back here and see what they have done

  • Well it's cool but the line needs(still) a rehab well the lights are nice.

  • Im scared of heights so I guess I would just pee in my pants when I get to the top!!

  • That's not the worst part, some of the cars swing on tracks that allow the cars to slide down, it makes it seem like you're gonna fly off!

  • wow disney sure knows how it top everything

  • And yet fans complain about how un-disney it is....

  • because many people think that the mickey head is poorly made and the ride had no heart put into it

  • haha. its 100X better then a creepy sun

  • That's right. Disney put a ferris wheel and other boardwalk-like rides in DCA. Originally, Walt Disney built Disneyland to have a theme park that wasn't like this. He wanted rides where both the kids and parents can enjoy together. Regardless, they still built these boardwalk-like rides at DCA. I personally don't think slapping on Mickey heads and theming old rides to fit with Mickey Mouse makes it anymore Disney-like than it was before, but I still think its better than the old sun face.

  • I don't think Walt ever said he was against ferris wheels. I think what he said was his park was not going to be dirty like typical carnivals. (his wife had said, why would you build an amusement park, they're such dirty places)

also, i've seen families (both kids and parents) enjoy this ride together.

  • exactly, i think walt would've liked this ferris wheel. the sun would've creeped him out

  • @beatledude64 That exactly how I feel about Paradise Pier lol

the stuff is already there so whata ya gonna do

but it definently looks better than before

  • i think it looks awesome. the sun looked horrible and hardly anybody rode it. when the renovations in paradise pier are done, it's gonna fit right in.

  • I think the sun looked MUCH better and besides that, it was a piece of ART. It was very beautiful.

  • The whole theme of paradise pier is going to be 1920s classic disney cartoons. the sun wheel wouldn't have fit into that. Mickey's fun wheel will blend it all in. and even though it's a piece of art, the line was practically empty most of the day. now it's no less than 40 min long.

LOL, to be honest, I was more terrified in the gondolas that DIDN'T swing -- you're pretty much forced to sit around and worry about how high you are without anything to distract you. In fact, you go even HIGHER!

In the swinging gondolas, it's a bit like being rocked, so it's much more relaxing. :P
