  • these videos give me the courage to assemble the lower myself instead of buying one pre-assembled. is it really as easy as it looks or do you just make it look that way?

  • well about a year ago I made a rookie move and broke an ear off of the lower receiver while trying to install the trigger guard. I didn't have anything supporting the back of the receiver like in the video. I know I know guys it was an idiot move. But question is.... can a gun smith fix that or am I out of a perfectly good receiver?

  • what kind of lower are you using for this build?

  • Cool tip I learned.the hard way. If you.lose one of the detent springs, tear apart a bic lighter. And cut its spring to size :)

  • Awesome vid. Helped me very much. Thanks for your time putting it together.

  • What a cool rifle the AR

  • What a cool rifle the AR

  • Just built my first lower too, awesome video,,no nicks, or lost parts, all went smooth!

  • i was going to pay someone to do this for me . but after watching both your videos it didnt take long thanks alot... you rock I now have my new Zombie lower on my RRA comp elite ...

  • Just built my 1st lower watching both videos. Thanks a million. You made it easy.

  • Good Video. Thanks

  • Thank you for making this. I just got my Spike's stripped lower out of CA's 10 day jail, and got my lower parts kit. This vid. will come in handy. I have to add a bullet button as well to be CA compliant.

  • Thanks for the info

  • Dam bro you make it look really easy! Ive actually been looking for a parts guide, but not anymore. Thanks bro!

  • whenever i need a refresher to do a build,i always refer to this video!thanks!

  • I used this vid when I put in Rock River Arms NM trigger into my MP15....huge improvement and the vid made it easy. Great job and thanks.

  • Can't thank you enough! Great video!

  • Great help thanks alot... my first ar build went smooth thanks to this video.

  • just seeing you use the brass hammer to drive the pins in makes me clinch haha. then again im someone thats like a neat freak when it comes to assembling ar15s.

  • I love these videos. I couldn't have put my lower together without them! I show these to everyone I know who wants to build an AR. Thank you so much for these.

  • Thanks for this video boss, was using the two guides on ar15, and couldn't figure how to seat the hammer properly, I was afraid anything that took that much force must be wrong. Thanks to your video I have my lower completed, waiting on my buffer and upper for completion on my first AR/first build. Thanks again!

  • Thanks!! This was very helpful

  • Is there any reason why brass punches and hammers are better for this or is that just what you had around?

  • @moosetacosR6 Brass generally softer than the lower and thus there's less chance of marring the finish.

  • thanks, ust built my ar-15 based of your video

  • thanks

  • Thanks for this info! My local gunsmith is a surly, rude douchebag and now I won't have to depend on him to repair/customize my rifle. Great video BTW.

  • fairly straight foward, what is the average price of a standard ar-15, basic type with a standard fixed reciever and all that jazz, store bought.

and what is the average price of the same weapon perchaced through parts only.

  • corrosive ammo leaves salt behind and will cause rust. clean with soapy water and rinse with water at the range. i follow up with a spray off in the shower and then blow dry of parts.

  • I used this when I put a Rock River Arms National Maych trigger on my AR. Yes a standard AR lower marked 5.56 will work with a 5.45 x 39 upper. 5.45 is very cheap and fun to shoot but be sure to clean it right immediately as all surplus 5.45 is corrosive."

  • Wow... having worked on 1911s and Glocks, I had always assumed (wrongly) that this would be a difficult process. Being new to AR-15s, this was an eye opener. I now know that, if I decide to, it won't be too hard to do a build. Thank you for posting this!

  • I was wondering how the lower gets attached to the upper. Thanks for showing that. It was a little fast but I understood it.

  • This is very helpful, thank you for taking the time to make the video.

  • I've built an AR15 once with none of the recommended tools, and just some instructions from AR15.com.

REALLY fun! All I had to use was small screw drivers for roll punches, and larger screw drivers for the pistol grip. I hand-tightened my castle nut... which, isn't recommended.

I wish I had tried the box-cutter for the front takedown pin. I lost one of the springs and detents because I tried to do it with just my fingers. Luckily the parts kits come with spares, in anticipation of such errors

  • @PatriotAr15 I have since tightened the castle nut with a proper castle nut wrench.

  • Great Vid! Huge help in my first AR build. A tip for anyone installing a Magpul trigger guard mod - dont use the roll pin that comes with the Magpul; use the pin that comes with the trigger kit (assuming you didnt buy a cheap-assed kit). Its a much better pin and will install much more easily preventing any accidental marring of the guard.

  • Thanks for the videos! They were a great help in assembling my first lower receiver. I made some rookie mistakes, but nothing fatal and no fault of yours. Cheers!

  • I recommend the Brownells how to build an AR-15 videos. You can actually see how gunsmiths do it.

  • @TxTproductionz yes and i believe you dont have to change the hammer or spring

  • @TxTproductionz I am NOT a pro gunsmith but...the M16/AR15 rifle accepts both .223 Remington and 5.56x45 Nato rounds. If you bought a Colt AR15 from the store it would shoot both, so I can't see why you'd need to do anything different than what the instructions say.

  • I used this vid to build my lower.Have no worries youtube peeps,if I could do it without fucking it up you can too.I don't have a table mounted vise,so installing the bolt hold open was kind of a pain in the ass.I mangled the first roll pin(I was building it on my bedroom floor after all!),but got the second one in just fine.I bought a complete upper from my local gun store, slapped it on and it works 100%.

  • Thanks. I used this to build mine!

  • i was going to buy an AR15 but now i think ill build a lower and buy an upper

  • Dont forget to stake the castle nut!! It WILL come loose

  • awesome vid, now Im in the process of building one now. awesome lower too lol

  • Awesome work! I assume this two part vid will apply to building a 7.62 NATO chambered ar, correct? No real differences between the 5.56 and 7.62 hardware to assemble the lower?

  • You sir have just inspired me to build an AR. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos they are very helpful.

  • My safety would not go thu had to remove the hammer to install the safety, then reinstalled the hammer and worked great

  • One help of a help. Did mine in less than 20 min

  • nice nice and nice. thx bro.

  • Good looking out guy! Just finished my M16 :) ay tamos al millon!!

  • Very well made videos sir.

  • Where can I get a stripped lower with the options of "peace", "firepower" and " superior firepower"?

  • @GLADIUS1230 if u look at the manufacturer of the reciever, which i dont remember now, google that and have it shipped to an ffl dealer. im a spikes and aero p. person myself, and on the spikes, you can get a "jolly roger" model that reads "parley" "argh" and "plunder"

  • @iHeartSar3s S.T has a "pirate" version of fire control indications on a lower? NICE. So Aero Precision is a good lower?

  • @PotatoGunsRule yea, its fine the reason i like em is because they're $80. all made of the same material, so why pay more?

  • I gotta ask is it really that much better then store bought AR's? Sorry I only have just gotten my first AR-15. Will say this vid has helped me understand the innards of em a lot better though.

  • Thanks

  • Don't forget to stake the castle nut.

  • Thank you for the video!! I just tackled my first build. Couldn't have done it without this video!!!

  • Just built my fourth lower (3 CMMG's and 1 Spikes Tactical) in two months and Ive got to say how much I appreciate the video. Thanks for the detail!!

  • I CAN SAY IT IS A LOT EASYER WITH THAT VIC LOL THAT BLOCK HELPS OUT A LOT TO

  • i need to get a vice O.O

  • Thanks for the awesome video. Just put together my cmmg lower with dpms parts kit.

  • where can you get a full upper like that not just the barrel but also the upper receiver with the action?

  • Thanks for the detail my lower went together great. I will do this again for sure now.

  • In your description of the fire selector detent pin using the term "pointed side up" people may think that you install the pin pointed side up. The pointed end as you know goes towards the selector. The first time I saw the vid I took your choice of words to mean the opposite.

  • where did you get that lower?

I like that it says firepower instead of fire.

  • i feel i can get this done no problem. its way more parts than my ak so i thought it was hard but it looks easy. thanks for the vid

  • I want a safety selector that says: "Chill" and "Kill"

  • @BrownLabRanch Maybe Spike's Tactical will do it for ya?

  • @mikeymike4g63 That would be awesome. It would definitely be a conversation starter.

  • @BrownLabRanch Great tutorial BTW, I have a stripped lower on order and will be using this for reference.

  • Oh my God! Where can I get a lower receiver that says 'Superior Firepower' on it?!

Great video, I plan on refferencing this when I build my own one day.

  • A good trick to installing the trigger pins is to slide a 1/8" punch into the hole to hold the parts in place while slowly inserting the pin.

  • Thank you very much for making this video. It helped me to breeze through the process of rebuilding my lower.

  • I'll be assembling my lower this week when it arrives, your vid came in handy. Thanks

  • wow!! best instruction video ever thanks!! :)

  • thanks for the awesome video, i decided i wanted to build an ar15 because mainly, it was cheaper. the guy at the register when i picked up the lower receiver recommended this video if we have troubles, and it was very helpful, thanks!

  • Very helpful thank you

  • A good AR-15 is bought, a Superior AR-15 is Built

  • @highlander723 somebody had to put it together. (bought)

  • did anyone notice the fart noise at 1:51? just kidding, great video. i have watched this 10 times already lol

  • Nicely done! I was intimidated by all the parts, but this inspires me to buy a stripped one now..Thanks!

  • awesome receiver... where'd you get it?

  • Could you do an assembly video on an AR-15 stripped upper receiver?

  • @armydude690 Its not that hard man just put the barrel in, screw the barrel nut in (if you have one), attach your hand gaurd, put on the site tower (if you have one) tap the pins in, put on the flash hider and your good to go!

  • @benfriedtviking3000 yeah thats the easy part. i meant like a vid on where you put together a bolt carrier group and putting the parts on the stripped upper

  • Good video! Thanks for making it.

  • thanks for the great vid. starting to think I can/should do this myself and get what I really want. one thing...hammer installation is obscured by hands from the camera. :(

  • Thank you for making this!

  • Nicely done.

Clear, informative and to the point. I am learning to appreciate the AR 15 more and more.

  • that tutorial parts 1&2 are amazing, i had no idea it was that easy to build the lower yourself.

  • These are great tutorials, but I was a bit lost on the trigger, since his hands were in the way. Basically for the majority of the time he was installing the hammer I had no idea. :\

  • Just watched this video, and I finished my stripped lower and parts kit. Thanks a ton for uploading!

  • thanks for upping! you refreshed my memory...nice and quick... and to the point.

  • thanks for the video. had a little trouble telling different springs and detens from each other but just finished building my reciever and putting rifle together only an hour with minimal tools and improvising

  • You are a great tutor! I just built my Father's ar15 lower, and because of you it took like 20 minutes. Thank You x infinity.

  • Thanks!!!

  • Awesome instructional video. Just completed my first AR lower build following this video and everything is right on. Thanks a lot!

  • Thank you DVDTracker for the great video. Your video helped me complete my assembly and It works great!!

  • 3:58 I think I might have facepalmed.

  • Thanks for the video. I am almost finished with my build. One question, the buffer you used went straight into the spring, the one I have doesn't. I have an A2 style buttstock. Is the buffer supposed to go all the way in like yours?

  • Thanks for the very helpful video! Do you stake the castle nut? If so, how do you do this?

  • Great video,Cheers!

  • excellent, my lower and upper are complete, just need barrel, gas and I am ready. the one thing you don't mention here is to stake the castle nut on the buffer tube.

  • just wanted to say thanks, your video helped me strip my lower so i could paint it, then i watched it again to make sure i was putting it back together correctly. thanks again. great video

  • nice

  • Combined with the AR15.com written instructions and diagrams, this video made my first assembly a piece of cake. Thanks for posting this video - the utility knife trick on the pivot pin assembly was brilliant!

  • @jorona79 I agree with the utility knife trick, I took it one step further and threw a sheet over me , good thing too cuz the detent pin flew once, but it landed right back in front of me.

  • thanks for the video

  • great tutorial, used it for my first build and using tonight for my second, thank you for posting this.....awesome lower by the way !

  • does anybody know what brand of lower receiver that is? I'm totally diggin' the safety markings: PEACE, FIREPOWER, SUPERIOR FIREPOWER. I must have one!

  • Comment removed

  • @tools52 Tom Sawyer Manufacturing. You can see it on Video 1 of 2

  • cant even see it very well:( what pins are what..what springs are what??????? there are like 4 different pins and springs... ugh...

  • @anthonylamotta777

Look up a parts diagram and have it in a different window. That's how I did mine.

  • It looked like he barely put any torque on the castle nut with that wrench. Is it really necessary to go past very hand tight?

  • Awesome. Here I was ready to spend a few extra bucks to have this done for me. Now I've learned that it's easy enough that I can do it myself. The DIY-er in me has rejoiced! Aside from a few 'hand blocking the camera moments', this was very helpful.

  • Stag does make a good lower my olny problem with them is they make a "high-shelf" lower ( makes it a bit hard to use an accu-wedge or more realisticly to tap /thread it for a upper/lower fit screw )

  • How did you get those inscriptions on the lower? Peace, firepower, etc

  • /thanks! Just finished my lower assembly with this. Good Instruction!

  • nice job, thanks

  • Peace , Firepower , Jihad this

  • thank you

  • I ordered an end plate and a stag arms buffer tube but the end plate doesnt seem to fit. Im wondering if maybe the end plate i ordered is made for a different buffer tube configuration i order a stag arms mil spec buffer tube and the end plate is a m4/ar15 plate thats all it says. any suggestions i was thinking just grinding off a little of the top from the small square piece that sticks up from the inner area that seems like it would do the trick do you think this is a smart idea?

  • Wow.. you are better than a book.. Thanks..

  • LMAO, ya gotta love the selections. "peace", "firepower" , "superior firepower"

  • Where is a good place to buy a quality stripped lower?

  • "We're going to hold it down with some somethin'..." it gave me a good chuckle.

  • awesome video!

  • dont like fuc k off idiot

  • @victor070 пашёл нахуй ёбаный жыд!

  • Thanks for the video. Very helpful.

  • I just assembled my first lower reciever with your Help...Thank you.

  • Does anyone know where I can get a lower like that?

  • @ThomasD909

This particular lower is Made by Tom Sawyer. Google them to find. Good luck.

  • Thanks for the info, man.

  • nice, with huckle barry fin forged internals right ?

  • My Colt AR15 H-Bar lower has an extra block of material that rises behind the hammer seem to be held in by 2 pins, notice your was missing or not used, wish you made one on dissassembly. I need to order an OLL and all the other BS!

  • his is full auto

  • @kbk1061, if you look his is actually not a full auto lower. it has no pin hole for a auto sear and there is also no space for it in the receiver, that is why near the end of the receiver there is a raised metal block so a auto sear could not be installed unless the block was milled out. this receiver just has a word printed on the outside that falsely says it could go full auto.

  • Great video! I just put my first lower together for my first rifle with you video.

  • helped me with my ar15 build

  • Thanks for the AWESOME videos. My Delton kit just arrived today so I'll be assembling it this weekend. A whole AR for 650 bucks. Im lovin it!

  • I'm waiting for my Del-Ton kit to arrive. This my be addictive.

  • @longstreet1957 I got mine assembled this weekend and LOVE it. I got the 16" mid-length flat-top kit. The only trouble i had was the screw for the pistol grip was either too long or the threading in the spikes tactical lower receiver wasn't deep enough so the screw bottomed out before the grip was tight. all i had to do was thread a nut on the screw, grind enough off and take the nut off to get the threads back how they should be then it fit good. The gun shoots awesome so far. No flaws yet

  • Where for 650 wow, please let me know. thanks

  • @67wraith I got it from del-tons website. I cant post links so just search google for "del-ton" and its the first link. I bought a stripped lower receiver locally for $120 which included transfer and the 16" flat top mid length rifle kit from del-ton is $465 but i upgraded to a chrome lined barrel so it was $510. of course it cost a little more than that with shipping but i got some other stuff from them too so it made the shipping go up more. I haven't shot it a whole lot but i love it so far.

  • WOW! That is rediculously easy!

  • For years I thought this process was extremely complicated, how wrong I was...

  • Wow I was about to buy a complete lower all dpms but now I think I am just gonna get the stag with the rock river parts kit and do it myself.... Thanks alot

  • thank you so much you just saved me 300

  • video is amazing! thanks!

  • Nice job!

  • so u don't have to put any type of lock-tite on any of the screw on parts? and no lubricant on anything?, i can actually buy an upper kit with a fully test fired complete upper and butt stock and lower kit minus the stripped lower for $465... then i can buy any stripped lower i want, S&W for $120, Kaiser for $85, Spikes for @ $100...so for under $600 i can make a decent AR...haven't yet though but it's coming soon

  • Who has the kit with everything but the lower for $465? I know Model 1 has cheap kits, but nothing like that.... Thanks

  • @jmangle

    Del-Ton

  • Del Ton Inc. sells complete kits, minus the stripped lower, for that price. Thinking of getting one myself.

  • do you know id del ton includes the tools for the buttstock?

  • I'm pretty sure they sell tools. You can check their website. I don't think the tools are included in the kit, though.

  • IM pretty sure that they are not, but from what ive seen you can use other tools to do the same job.

I just ordered my kit a couple days ago from Del-ton, Ive heard good things about them.

  • @jmangle del ton does

  • You really only need locktite on a stage 2 trigger assy. due to lbs. adjustments but not on a standard trigger. And you do want to keep a VERY light coat of CLP or other lubricant on it, but dont soak it on or it will gather dirt and gunk up

  • @italyencracka if you can find one of those kits your a luck sob their sold out everywhere

  • i can buy a new upper for 6.8 or .308 with a stock lower for my ar 15 right?.... lots of ppl told me this .. just wanna kno is someone disagrees and where can i find the upper receivers?..

  • with 6.8, yes but not 308. The .308 bullet would be physically too long to fit inside a magazine that would still fit in the mag well.

  • i want my hammer to not lock back when i pull the trigger, but that costs extra.

  • Got a stag rifle kit for 610 rra lower for 110. Two great AR15 manufactures and because i built my own got it for 720 bucks. Try and find a stag or rra complete rifle that is under 900 and you will be lucky.

  • Great vids, very instructional and they help in understanding how it all comes together. Looks like that trigger has a hefty pull with a lot of drift, but that's to be expected with new parts. Looks really good though, well done!

  • I would suggest paying the $130 for a RRA 2-stage trigger....easy to install and REALLY improves on the stock triggers. I replaced the trigger in my MP15 once I watched this video.
