The name Petrograd replaced St Petersburg only from 1914 to 1918. The Russians felt the latter was too Germanic. St Petersburg replaced Moscow as the Capital around 1714 and remained so (apart from tbe brief 14-18 war) until about 19?? when the Capital relocated back to Moscow. In 1924 at the death of Lenin, St Petersburg became Leningrad. In 1991 it reverted to St Petersburg.
It seems to me she has a Marcella Sembrich touch in her timbre and technics. It is striking to listen to how HIGH was the average international technic level at the time. What a decay since!
