@timwaterson I would like to know your opinion on the perfect beater angle. There are a lot of stories going on on the internet where some have their beaters almost against the head ad where others have them like miles away. In my opinion it all comes to personal preferences, as long as your strokes are loud enough. Love your vids btw. Keep up the good work Tim! cheers..
Hey Tim! I dont have my drum set with me at this time... only a gibraltar pad.. would this pad will "keep me up" ? or i have to practice on a real bass drum to develop a better technique? what do you think? .. and Thanks your videos are great!
@TimWaterson i literally tap my feet at work all night and thats how i can do the meshuggah bleed triplet single triplet single anything does really work just gotta keep practicing
How about the rebound? Because the rebound on the rubber pad isn't like the rebound on a real bass drum head is it? Or can you get the same rebound? Thanx. Awesome vid.
Would you say that the swivel is almost the moeller stroke of the foot? because you seem to get accents quite nicely off of your technique :) at high speeds it practically keeps your foot engaged without tensing up which is really effective for long gigs. Mind you im no expert :P
Lol practicing makes you learn how to use it right, if you dont practice anything you'll never do it right and your muscles wont respond well to it. Thats all these techniques are, muscle memory
Im concidering getting your dvd, do you cover things like this? Iv watched your vids for ages but Im concidering learning your techniques. Im interested in slow-fast techniques or explinations, do you do that or not really?

Can you explain why almost every fast double bass player has very tight springs??
MrStevendrums 3 months ago
@MrStevendrums
overall tighter springs gives a faster response.
But all my pedals are set different.

Beware, swivel if not made properly can damage your knees, that's what kollias say.
You should play swivel BUT not practice it, it's a natural movement due to high speed, that should come naturally.
