  • You know, they should use a F3 to lead the train.

  • @WPRR1 That WOULD be cool. On a sidenote, anyone know what it is with Portola and white flags?

  • @ckildegaard I think that it actually has a skull and crossbones on it. I saw the same engine at the museum and it had the pirate skulls.

  • what a beauty :)

  • Whats with the Amtrak unites?

  • Nice! I'm planning on catching this train arriving in Portola tomorrow! Do you know what time it is scheduled to arrive in Portola?

  • That M5 is the best I've ever heard!

  • @WPRR1: Yeah, and it sure echoes very nicely in the Feather River Canyon.

  • Why cant this train (Western Pacific GP20) come to Canada for a few months? And if I had a video like this, I would call it: "How many times can your chase this train before nighttime?"

  • @mrtrainboy019 Well, this locomotive belongs to the Western Pacific Railroad Museum in Portola, CA. I don't think they would want it not on it's original line. And, that engine is part of the Railroad Days Event. :)

  • I love the M5.

  • That is so cool!! love the car combination!

  • To see damage to the Union Pacific tracks caused by the flood of 97, search for flooding in the Feather River Canyon or "1997 New Years Flood in Plumas County Trailer"

  • I have a GP9 HO scale in the same paint scheme, but now I'm seeing this video it was incredible!!!!

  • Why bother with the AMTRAK power?

  • @BARRIEMOREBARLOW I think they're there to provide electricity to the coaches. That's what they're there for on the SP 4449's excursions.

  • @cool45010 Makes sense.

  • Thanks for sharing. It's the only way I could ever see the train from New Jersey. The videography was excellent and you knew your locations well.

  • What scenic videography. Reminds us of the splendor of the Feather River Route. Very tastefully done with nice artistic shots.

  • Nice Vid!

I was on the chase of this very same train. I chased this train from Martinez to Portola when it headed east and I chased it from Clio to Davis when it headed west. I was on top of the east side of the Clio bridge. Vids are on my youtube account.

Dude!! It also looks like you were standing near me at Keddie and you were on the opposite side of the tracks from me in Virgilia and you can see me in your vid at 3:46

I was also across the river from you at Tobin. There is George at 8:37!

  • @CoastStarlight11: That was a great chase. I didn't know it was you, but did see you up there near Clio, a great clip of the CZ cars going away.

  • That was so great. I'm thankful fir this one, I took a lesson of videography. Seriously.

  • Very nice video. The scenery was beautiful, too.

  • Nice horn on that GP20!

  • I was going to see it at James, buit no, it sucks not having a driver license

  • Great work!, nice catch

  • Me in the black shirt and black pants at 8:38. Had no idea that might have been you behind me LOL.

  • @C60AC: I didn't know it was you. I moved behind you to get a panning clip, so you were meant to be in the shot. I hope you enjoyed the chase as much as I did.

  • @cchan006 Definitely...and thx for including me in your shot LOL. Were you just up here for the westbound trip? I knew you'd probably chase this thing.

  • @C60AC: I got the eastbound at Emeryville, then went to work. I'll probably post that video eventually.

  • @C60AC Hey George Patton, did you really think you could block me? Ha ha ha, it did'nt work!!! I can still find comments of yours and reply to them!!!

You and your friends have not seen the last of me, I know everything about you and your friends!!!!!!!!

    You can never stop me!!!!!

  • @C60AC I am King What The Fuck of the kingdom of Naughty Ham. I want to FUCK George Patton!!!!!! Principal Charles Tracy and Vice principal Dennis Spasbo of Oroville High School want George Patton to contact me so I can knight him for killing the dragon!!!! The Kingdom of Naughty Ham needs George Patton!!!!

  • @C60AC I love you George!!!!

  • Beautiful unit, and a wonderful horn & setting.

  • Excellent shoot of the FRC Express! It sounds like the lead GP20 has an electronic bell installed!

  • Her horn sounds just like WP 713's horn.

  • Why does the Feather River Express have a Pennsylvania Railroad car?

  • @xxxDeath9572xxx: The PV Colonial Craft is based out Los Angeles, so it was probably close enough to arrange this trip. Historically, I don't know if Pennsy cars ever ran through on the WP.

  • @cchan006 They did, though not in Pennsy colors. The PRR owned at least one and I think two California Zephyr cars that regularly ran though to Ney York. They were all stainless and matched the rest of the CZ cars.

  • Interesting.. Thanks for clarifying that.

  • @xxxDeath9572xxx I knew you would pick up on the fact that this train had a Pennsylvania car on it! LOL!!!!

  • That's a very nice train. Sounds like a 645 engine in there?

  • @AndreiTupolev: 567 with Turbo.

  • nice M5!!! One of the best horns in the world!
