@aektzis91 It's wah-fuzz-amp. My wah is an old Vox that has been tweaked by a technician years ago while he had it for some repair. It has a lot of travel because it has no rubber "stoppers" under the rocker pedal, has a bit more gain, add something so i doesn't oscillate and the Q has been tweaked as well. It is voiced on the bassy side but i get smooth highs as well. I like it even if it acts on me once i awhile. Rob
@olaftheholy TBs don't sound the same as fuzzes, but i do use them from time to time. My rig is ever changing as you can see from my channel. Thanks for the advise though. Rob
Hey have you ever had problems with WAY too much radio interference when using the sunface? Because I can't stand it, nothing else causes it so much as the sunface.
never, but had that problem with an old fuzz face with BC 108s i used to have. one thing though, i keep my cable length pretty short, about 10' each, (long cables make great antennas lol!!) and i use Georges Ls between my pedals.
try the bias knob, and the internal trim pot they help a lot shaping your sound. i don't use much fuzz on the Sun Face, i use it more as a booster. sometime it's on all the time and adjust my sound with the guitar's volume knob.
Oh, well my i may not use as high quality cables, but there deffinently not long, I love the tones I get out of it, but it's just so annoying having to listen to radio commercials every time i turn it on. On a side note what do you think of the fulltone deja vibe and octafuzz? Worth the money?
Nice sound. Did you compare the Analog man to other fuzz like the Fulltone 69 or the new Dunlop Hendrix (the turquoise one). This one seems to clean up very nicely.
no i didn't had the chance. yes the Sun Face cleans up nicely. i like to use it as a "dirty boost" by adjusting the internal trim pot so it does not get too "fuzzy" the bias knob helps too!!
it's a Marshall 2x12 with stock Celestion G12-65, that i bought in '86. JCM 800 cabs usually came with G12-80s, but some reason mine has 65s. i have tried other cabs, but always come back to this one. as for amps, i'm switching between a few Bassmans and early '70s 4 inputs Marshalls, and a blackface Deluxe.
I just acquired an Analogman sun Face Nkt 275.I was kind of lucky to fond a used one in perfect shape in Montreal. Compared to my Fulltone 69, it has a tad more fuzz and sustain . It cleans up very nicely and has "more meat" to the sound.
The 69 has a more delicate sound, a little bit like the first Hendrix album. For ex it sounds very close to "Fire" from Jimi. I like them both and soom I will record an A/B test on Utube. Stay tuned.
it's a '96 Custom Shop Relic, when Vince Cunetto was "relicing" them from his place in Colorado or something. a really light guitar with a huge neck!! i've been using it ever since i bought it brand new. now it's more of a "super relic" with not much lacquer left on the neck, lots of dents, and checking on the body... love it!!
seeing that you're into vintage and boutique equipment how do feel and what is your opinion on modern and more mass produced pedals such as Boss or Electro Harmonix?
Boss and E-H do great stuff too! but they don't have uni-vibe, or Octavia clones, and for using a fuzz as a boost, the Sun Face was the best i've tried. cleans up really well, true bypass...
but in my opinion, you can get great sounds with whatever you have really. your tone is in your hands and your soul. umm... i think it's time for me to shut up!! i'm starting to sound like Yoda or something ;)
hey mate do you have fuzz-----wah---- amp??? your wah doesnt sound very harsh (as they usually do when placed after a fuzz), how is that?

By the way, I really like your playing. Simple and effective set-up. You have a bassman with what kind of speakers?

Nice subtle use of that fuzz - the pedal doesn't have to go bat crazy or impose its will, we'll leave that to your technique!
