Immediately drawn in with compelling logic (somehow, seem to hear Leonard Nimoy as Spock saying those lines). Kirk voice echos rounding the planet, and then the way the enterprise triumphantly explodes out of that sun and flies off to explore the universe reminds me of those Carl Sagan quotes 'we are all star stuff' and 'we are a way for the universe to know itself'. Then course, I remember Kirk famous line again and thats it, its no use, i'm in tears. (what a girl).

I understood the need to "update" the Enterprise for the movie, but watching this again makes me remember how much I was looking forward to seeing the big E in her original configuration on the big screen.

I can't wait till the movie comes out. There is one problem though. Captain Johnathan Archer from the tv series "Enterprise" was the first captain of the Enterprise. Also according to the original series Captain Christopher Pike preceded Captain Kirk as Captain of the Enterprise. So did these 2 men take over after Captain Archer? Hopefully the movie will explain these facts and everything will fit in and make sense.

Technically, Cpt. Johnathan Archer was the only person to command the NX-01 Enterprise under Starfleet which was decommissioned in 2161 soon after the signing of the charter for the Federation.

The Enterprises's to follow would be and are Federation along with their registries, with that in mind, the first captain to command the Enterprise under the Federation would be Pike.

I hope there is a reference to Captain Pike in the new movie since he was the first captain of the NCC 1701 Enterprise, not Kirk as the new movie leads you to believe. Also Spock served with Pike during this time, so what was the rest of the bridge crew doing during this period?? They obviously didn't graduate the academy at the same time. I hope this is explained in the new movie otherwise it will have been a poorly planned film.

Screw you guys, so what if there are a couple flaws? I've been with Star Trek since TNG and I'll always be with Star Trek. If it wasn't for Gene Roddenberry's vision of the future and his Star Trek, we wouldn't have what we have today. A lot of out technology is thanks to Star Trek. Touch screen computers and tv's, robots, nanotechnology, teleporters (one guy actually made one and teleported a molecule across a room, and if you think that's not a big achievement then you do better!)

All I can say is "thank you". So many of these fan trailers are misleadingly titled to draw attention, but this... I could see this on the big screen. No question.

The usage of the vintage clips reminded me of Superman Returns with Brando. THAT gave me chills and I've never been a superman fan. So you can imagine how exciting it would be for someone who like Trek more. I expect the real Trek08 trailer will be much like this.
