It's an awesome ipod, unless you're gonna run outside with it. Remember it's a hard drive, not a flash drive. Be careful how you use it. I'm definitely getting one since I'm sick and tired of the 8 gb ipod I have now. I definitely need more capacity.

You know what really ticks me off about iPods. They don't come with iTunes. so you have to go to apple's website and download the 80 mb file. I really don't see why the software can't come with the frikin' thing. other than that, I'm satisfied (except for the fact that all of apple's software is slow on any windows OS)

One more thing, I have that same case for mine, and it was like $22. and it kind of restricts the click-wheel a little bit)

Pick what iPod is right for you. Shuffle, nano, touch or classic. I went for the touch for quality music and games. He went for the classic for the space. Nano for video camera and radio. Or shuffle for the easy clip for running or VoiceOver. It is up to what iPod suits your taste. All 4 iPods are exeptional products!

i have one of these. i previously had the 8GB touch and it sucked ass. headphone jack on the touch and iphones are crap. the touch i had the hp jack screwed up. plus why pay that much for 8gb of memory? 120GB is near the same price, and it's a much better deal, much better made product imo. you'll really like them.

actually it is 120gb, because 1gb is actually 1,024MB and for some reason the ipod dosent recognize the 24mb, this kind of thing happens with almost every type of hard drive, I thought thy would fix that since it seems like your loosing a lot more data when you go into the terrabytes but they never did nor will they

Yeah... this is not a problem by the way. The thing is that when products they sold, they use the format 1000 bytes = 1 ko. But in reality computers use the real format that is 1024 bytes = 1 ko. It's just more easy to use the 1000 format since people would be so confused when calculating. So, if you take the 120 Gb and convert it in bytes (120 000 000 000 bytes) and divide it by 1024 (3 times (MB..KB..B))... it should give you the real capacity (around 111 gb)

you can get the music off your own cds (itunes can do that for you) and then put it on your ipod. itunes automatically finds whats in your music folder and puts it on your ipod!

If anyone is deciding between 120gb classic or 2g touch than this is what you should do. exluding the classic the highest capacity of the current line of ipods is 32GB. so add all your music,tv shows,movies, podcasts.(not apps) and see how many GB it is. if all that stuff combined is above 32GB, then get the classic.

According to the Apple website, you can fit 2000 songs on 8gb. You would have to do quite a bit of trimming in your case. Apps do not take up a lot of room (I find they add up though). On a classic, Apple says you can fit 30,000 songs. They will probably make a touch with a higher capacity in the years ahead.

I would go with the iPod Classic. You can fit a lot of media on it. The iPod touch is nice with a widescreen display, but 8gb is quite small. If you buy apps, 8gb goes quickly. I sold my iPod touch to buy a classic and have no regrets (however, my iPhone made it easier to sell). You get the most gbs per dollar. If you have a smaller library, maybe the touch is for you. So my answer, it depends on the size of your library.
